Hello everyone, i have been a vaper for some time.
i just bought everything ready to go and just vaped, UNTIL LAST SATURDAY.
that was when one of my battery's (ego battery) died on me, i found out that it was the battery it self that died and not the circuit that was in there.

now i went searching and i found out that i could reuse the circuit that was in my ego battery but i also saw that some people had trouble using say: an 18650 battery mod with the ego circuit.

my question is: can i make an relative easy boxmod or other batterymod for my old ego circuit using lets say an 14500 battery

thanks for any help

I've made several boxmods and the only "circuit" they really need is wires from the battery to the connector and a switch in the + line. I wouldn't put an eGo circuit in there at all. It would bring the voltage down to 3.4 v or so. It would have a protection circuit in it too, but if you use protected 14500's there's no need for it.

i would do that but i was interested in the fact that: would i be possible because i know where i can buy 14500 unprotected battery's (wich are cheaper) + that i do have a circuit laying around + that i can charge the battery on the ego charger so would it be possible

I'd tend to avoid that, unless you have really good knowledge of the eGo, whether or not it has really good protection in the circuit. Does the eGo cover short circuit, high amp, over temp?
You are better off just spending the couple dollars more, get a better battery. Money's tight, but this is something that you put next to your face and energize...

Trustfire black flame jacket 14500 is a pretty decent protected battery. http://www.amazon.com/TrustFire-Pro...dp_top_cm_cr_acr_txt?ie=UTF8&showViewpoints=1

I definitely wouldn't try to run a 1.5 ohm carto/atty with it, but for 2 ohms or higher at 3.3 - 3.4V I wouldn't mind it, with 1.7 ohms being marginal (1.7 ohms is nominally about a 2.2C current draw at 3.4V; the rule-of-thumb is that continuous discharge rate for a standard ICR battery is 2C, so you would be about 10% high)

eGo use LiPo battery which has low internal resistance and relatively big discharge current. So usual Trustfires etc will work inreliably with eGo board. Here are batteries which can work: HobbyKing R/C Hobby Store : LiPo, LiFe, NiMH Battery>Lipoly Round Cells
You can even buy needed cell and replace it in eGo body without modding.
You can also choose a flat battery for box mod.

then maybe i could use an protected battery right. but is an 14500 battery strong enough to power an ego circuit. i would realy like to use the ego circuit so i have a regulated vape at 3.3 volt (wich i find is strong enough for me to use lr boge's on)
Why not? Give it a shot. On many of the foreign forums you often see eGo electronics on all sorts of mods. And the ability to use an eGo charger and having the eGo regulation sounds good. The LR Boge cartos usually run a tad higher than 2Ω. If you are building a box mod why not step up a size and use an 18350, They aren't much more expensive than a 14500 and you'll have the benefit of more mAh.
