14500 in a Janty Stick

Does anyone know if a 14500 would fit a Janty stick? Seems like the same width, only 10 mm taller.... is there that much play in the spring?

I don't have one on hand to check it out... maybe one of you has. As it is it uses a 14400; there's some decent maH to gain from a good 14500.

Actually the JS uses a 10440 AAA size battery. The 14500 is an AA size.
