I bought two styles of battery holders and both are too small for my UltraFire 18350, 1200mah's that I bought from madvape. I guess they are not for protected batteries that are a little bit longer.
I bought the holders from Digi-Key
2 holders for the CR123A
2 holders for the 2/3A
What I can do is cut them across the middle and glue them in a box mod with a gap where I cut them.

Is there a spring to trim perhaps? I'm not sure what you want to use them for but maybe for a mod dedicated to IMR's?

Hey asdaq,
Yes the IMR's would most likely work as they are a bit shorter.

I have moved on since the O.P. I originally bought them for a possible mod. But really have no need for them in a mod.

I also had the same problem with the batt holders for 18650's. The Trusfire's are too long and the Ultrafires are even longer. I use the holders only for testing circuits with my breadboards. I have to canter the batteries on an angle to wedge them partially hanging out for contact.
No coil spring, just thin spring tabs which are now squashed flush against the case.
