hi guys i just brought a new efest purple 18650 been using it for half day with my SMPL clone mod.. ive changed my cotton on my bigdripper, then when ive try it
i wont fire.. im thinking ive disconnected some wires so ive test it in ohm meter it reads the same (.6) so i think the problem is not there.
and then i try my aspire nauti mini when i pulsed it it fires.. ive tried to drag on it, then suddenly it got hot,, i took of the battery immedietly..
i think ive shorted it.. when i got back home i charged it. this gives me an idea of over discharging it...

now ive checked my battery it has a dimples on negative post... i tried using different mod on it my sentinel m16 clone
it still works fine.. my question is... is it still safe to use it?? did i just shorted it life or totally killed it?
im still new to rebuildables.. :p

what battery is recommended if im just building .8 to .6 only

thanks.. but im kind of having difficulties looking for vtc4 or 5.. all of the legit seller have hiked up the price... :(

They are hard to find. I just bought some from Origin Vape and they definitely seem real to me. Or get some Xtar VTC4's, they're just rewrapped Sonys.

I personally only prefer quality batteries, no matter the build. Sony, Samsung, LG, Panasonic, etc.. EFest is not too bad, but I have never seen them do that before. But as for me, I use LG HE2 and Sony VTC4

Same here. I only use LG HE2, Sony VTC4, and PVTSO 30amps (which are actually some awesome 30 amp batteries). I was unsure of them at first but they haven't vented on me or anything at high amperage so I trust them. 2014-11-30 13.26.21.jpg

you're probably just shorting out the battery on the 510 connector on the topper.

both of the toppers you mentioned:
- the big dripper
- the nautilus mini

have fixed positive center pin; therefore you cannot adjust them so that the pin protrudes out clearly to make contact with you battery on the SMPL mod without shorting out on the 510 threads on the topper.
