Only you can answer that question. Would you be safer and get better performance for your build in your mech?Hey I've a dotmod dotsquonk (mech mod).
One of my 20700s died and need to get some new battery's soon.
I can get Sony vtc5a's for about 5€ and 20700s for about 10€.
Is it really worth the extra 400 mah and 5A for 5€ more.
Any benefit?
Using mostly single coils.
The manufacturer who made those batteries for Vapcell changed the cell to a poorer performing cell without notifying Vapcell. Using China-made batteries runs the risk of buying a battery of inconsistant quality because the cell used can change at any time. Sort of a "bait and switch" tactic.I used both in my dot and other mods.
Of course build dependent and model battery used.....
But I got longer run time with 20700 than 18650, using single coil at @.25.
I have the original vapcell gold, which had great ratings.
Your link is broken. Why are people still buying VTC5/5A when there is this -> VTC6A ?

Hope this helps.
I am aware of that, but I still use builds under the newer ratings. The manufacturer who made those batteries for Vapcell changed the cell to a poorer performing cell without notifying Vapcell. Mooch saves us lots of cash we'd spend trying every cell to find out what's best.
Thanks for that, @Mooch
I've a vapcell gold to.
But I don't trust them anymore after the new tests.
Gonna get some 5a's then.
Probably need to Cary a extra around then but that's fine if I can safe some money AND get a battery from Sony Insted of a Chinese 20700.
You can go for Molicel INR20700A, a very good battery and will outperform VTC5A

In my experience i've tried both 18650 and 20700 in my pulse (.6 0hm, 3mm id kanthal A1 build on a recurve rda)
I usually get about a work day's worth of life out of my 20700
my 18650s are much older though but i still got about a day's worth out of the ones i've got (i use about 30 watts all the time on that build)
All batteries used are 3000MaH
20700 are 30 amps
18650s are 20 amps
I'd have to wonder who makes the cell under the wrap. Looks like they are a North American company based in Canada who sells in the U.S.
Interesting!
