18650s in laptop batteries???

so its recently come to my attention that the lithium cells in laptop batteries are 18650s... are they safe to use in mods or will i eff stuff up if i use them? i thought itd be a good idea to ask before i blow my hand off or destroy my mod haha.

also would they be safe to charge on my charger?

the numbers on the side of the batts are: CGR18650CG

The 18650s in laptop battery packs are most likely unprotected and SHOULD NOT be used in mods.

well, i tore the wrap off of one of them. and you are correct, no protection circuit.

Easy answer is get good trusted batteries and leave the laptop batteries for your laptop.
