This may be (another) stupid newb question. But is there a comparison of mls of e-juice to analogs? I seem to be going through quite a few mls a day.
I was a PAD smoker.

Not a good comparison, no.
I'm participating in a study right now and tracked my use runs around 6ml a day. I was a 2 PAD smoker. However, in my time around ECF, I've run into people who had left smoking habits similar to mine whose vaping habits were
utterly different. Ran into one guy who smoked a brand similar to mine, 2 PAD who went up on nic in his vape while I went down. I vape around 12mg (with 6-9 being common), he was in the 24 to 36 range with gusts to 48 (which made my eyes bug out).
Short of actual blood tests, nobody can come up with a good equivalence. I've seen some tests that suggest about half the nic is "available" in the vapor (such as one ml of 24mg juice produces 12mg of nic in the vapor it produces). Past that... nobody's sure. We know the rate of absorption is different between vaping and inhaling smoke into the lungs (the latter is faster and more nic is picked up). But how much? Dunno. Unless there are tests out there I haven't read about yet.
Basically, though, I wouldn't worry about it.
My understanding of this whole thing (and I've read a
lot) is smokers get used to having some level of nic circulating in their bloodstreams. Whatever level that is, you seek to maintain it. You don't consciously work at it. You develop habits such that when your nic level falls, you reach for a cig. Or if you can't have one, you start having "nicotine fits". You know the drill.
Vaping is a whole other kind of "delivery system" and you have to develop all new habits to hit and maintain the level of nic you're used to. I suspect people notice their vaping because it's a change. Smoking becomes second nature and you don't think about it, you just do it. Change things (as you do in vaping) and you're more aware of it. At least at first. I'm pushing a year now and my vaping is becoming "second nature" almost as much as my smoking was. Trying to track my juice usage took some paying attention. I had fallen into habits and routines and couldn't tell you how much I used per day. I just... vaped.
Anyway, I wouldn't worry about "numbers" so much as how you feel. Too much nic causes things like insomnia, heart palpitations, headaches, so on. That's a big time signal to back off your nic level. Short of that, your body is going to seek to hit that level of nicotine you're used to having from your days of smoking and it'll just sort of happen.
