Ive rebuilt them many times but how did you get the top off ?

Yes, inquiring minds want to know! I grabbed a tiny crescent wrench from a toolkit I have and a pair of pliers. I've already dinged one of the tops, and I'm trying to find something that won't scratch them all to heck....

I use 2 pliers. One to grab below the juice holes, and the other to grab just the top cap. squeeze tightly and twist. work it back and forth a couple times and it will pull right off. It gets easier to remove after it's been pulled off the first time.

To reinstall, I line the top cap up where I want it, hold the head between my fingers (with the post sitting on the table) and gently tap the cap back on with a small hammer (or even the pliers).

Is it better to rebuild the stock coils over rebuilding on the RBA base?
The juice holes on the rba are so tiny they cannot keep up with my wick. Others like the rba, I have said it is useless to me in other threads. The OCC head, by contrast, has almost 2, 3mm juice holes and keeps up with Koh Gen Doh with no problem.

I use a vice grip on the base and a channel lock on the top cap. Yes, that is correct. I really don't care that the head gets scuffed up by those tools. It has no impact on operation. I do not grab it on the sides with the juice holes. I would not want to marr those holes for obvious reasons. The channel lock can be opened to the exact size of the top cap so all that is required is the least bit of torque and a tiny twist and she comes right off. Snapping it back into position is also a little tricky but after several times it becomes easier. It's pretty tough to perfect your coil and wick and whole assembly with that top cap on.
