Just wanted to share with you guys my first 4 strand 6 wrap single coil sitting at .26 ohms with cotton.

Took this before I fired it up for the first time. Since then it's been straightened out and adjusted. Btw sorry for the crappy picture quality but my phone screwed up.

Thinking of doing another one in dual mode aiming for .15. The vape is nice and warm and there is a huge amount of flavor. Still trying to find a happy medium that works for me.

Ummmm....seems like a ton of work. I get great results with standard dual micro coils in the .25-.4 range on mechs or .7-1.0 range on regulated devices. Using 26 or 24 ga...whatever the atty likes better. My derringer and marquis perform better and have better flavor with 24. Tugboats, plume veils....26ga.

To each is own dude . I blow stupid clouds on my other plume veil with dual parallel at .15 and the vape is nice and hot and great flavor. This is a little less vapor but the flavor is very intense.

It actually took me only like 5 minutes if that to build this so it's not a lot of work at all. Plus it'sa lot of fun to build different coils :)

Dude, why did you go parallel instead of twisted? Have you compared the two?

Because I don't have a drill yet. Went with my girl this weekend to visit my folks and brought my 28g kanthal and twisted like 3 feet worth so I got that sitting in the apartment but haven't messed with it yet.

Since it sounds like you got experience with both can you shed some light on pros and cons of parallel vs twisted? Vapor and flavor wise?

Wow, how da heck can wicking keep up? You must be vaping like 100%pg, or cut your juice with a bottled water to keep up wich such a heat zone
Well I tried something new this time and wicked it through the coil, bottom part going underneath into the deck and the top hugging the posts. But I didn't like it.

Uses a crap load of juice so I'm gonna wick a new coil (coils) differently tonight when I get home. I tried both 80/20 and 90/10. There is only one think I can say - so much flavor I actually coughed a little. EXTREMELY intense flavor. But I gotta find a happy medium hence the dual idea and different wicking.

But to hit .15 or .17 I'll have to do more wraps for a dual. Which I don't mind cause it's fun as hell but the coil is gonna be even longer cause now we're talking around 7 wraps so I'll have to tinker with it a bit.

My go to cloud builds are similar. Depending on my mood i will build dual coils, each 4 parralell 28g. Or duals using 6 parralell 30g strands.

Pic is using the 28.

Not as easy as a standard build but after a couple builds its not difficult at all. Just has the one extra straightening step.

No wicking issues, and produces crazy clouds.

Edited with tapa talk - hopefully the images are working now.

Twisted has the flavor and vapor, but doesn't burn through the juice as fast. Plus, I think its easier and more durable.

Gotcha. Any suggestions on twisting anything higher than 28g? I think 26 or even 24 would be decent even if in dual mode and should fit in the plume without having to drill. Hopefully lol

I have had the opposite experience. I get better flavor and a huge vapor production difference with the two builds I posted. Twisted taste good but mine always where on par with a standard build on vapor production. They seem to pop more then normal also.

Forget twisting 24g. Unless your on a apv. Mechs just can't heat it quick enough. Do like I do, .3 24g. Kanthal fired at 36 watts or 3.6 volts. Hella Batt life(2 18650, low ohm so ya get the heat( large gauge wire) and heck of alot of flavor(each coil has 10 wraps,I think) all bases covered without stress on batteries. When dry firing coils, takes like 3 seconds before orange hot. My all time favorite build to fate. This is built on magma. Did the cloud thing for two years, gotta say flavor chasing is just better omo.

I don't have any experience with parallel, just twisted. I've used 4 coils of 32g and liked it. More flavor than vapor.

Actually the attachments are not coming up as links dude

You mean just dual straight? Not twisted and not parallel? And I'm not on an apv soi can't regulate the watts. Reason I'm saying that is cause my vtc4 fully charged is at 4.2 volts and it works amazing with my other setup.

That's my other setup I was talking about. 24g 3 and a half wraps 3 mm diameter. At fully charged vtc4 with 4.2v it's around 117 watts if my memory serves me right. Great flavor, hot vape, stupid big clouds. I'm just experimenting with different types of coils right now.

Seriously think about an apv. Them loads your pushing are getting the side of scary. I'm not here to be the "parent of bayts" but with apv you get sooooo many more 24g wraps builds and do it with more safer reward's.

I know what you're saying dude. It's just the money issue at the moment. I'll definitely get one in a few months but I gotta save up a bit. Tired of being broke.

Anyway I would not push a vtc4 past .12
I know that some people do it and are confident with it but I don't see a point stressing a battery beyond its limits. That's too stupid. Hence why I'm hanging between .2 and .5 range and if I feel really confident with a specific type of coil I'll go below 2 but that's kind of rare.

Also, I've vaped on 165 watts before and it just seemed too hot. Like an overkill. But regardless, I fully agree with your safety comment. Sub ohming should always be taken very seriously and I would never tell anyone to attempt it with out a ton of thorough research.
