Hey everyone, getting ready to make my first mix soon and need help with flavoring. I ordered some organic flavors for coffee beans from Newport Flavors recently and been playing around with different calculators creating recipes. I've read it's best to start off with low amounts of flavor like 10% then work your way up if it's too weak. My question is, what kind of base do you select or put in the calculator for the organic coffee bean flavors? As these are set in a base of Organic Ethyl Alcohol and Vegetable Glycerin. Is there any steeping required? My target is 24mg Nic, 50/50 pg/vg, 60ml, with Rose/Hibiscus flavoring. I plan on using 50mg Nic,50/50 and have spare bottles of Pg,Vg for balancing the overall ratio.

Thank you!

Answered your own question, so I've got nothing to add.

Steeping is never required. Try it right away. If it's close, you might want to set it aside for awhile to see if steeping does anything.

Unless you have the % of alcohol for each flavoring, it would be impossible to calculate the % of alcohol in the final mix. Besides, I haven't seen mixes listed as 25/70/5 (PG/VG/PGA). We just use PG & VG.

If you want to add alcohol, then you would put how much alcohol you want to add in that part of the calculator. The flavoring is still in the flavoring inputs and you were asking how the flavoring is categorized, either PG or VG. If the flavoring contained flavoring chemicals, ethanol and PG, it would be categorized as PG, but yours contains flavoring chemicals, ethanol and VG, so it's categorized as VG.

If you want to know the chemicals that make a blueberry taste like a blueberry you can click this link. Ingredients of All-Natural Blueberries | James Kennedy It's pretty cool when you can see what is what like that. Wish I could find more like James did with the few he has posted.

Thanks a lot man, I really appreciate you taking the time to explain more of this to me and for providing that link. I guess what I meant to say was how it would be categorized and you knew exactly what I meant. I can see how it would be difficult to determine the exact % of alcohol in the mix since no amount is given but some can be added.
