I've been lurking here for a little over three weeks. I stumbled onto this forum from a Google search...MAN AM I GLAD I DID! About a week after I started reading on here I went to the local B&M and got the EVO kit with some NEXT juice. I quickly figured why it was called NEXT; I was ready to try anything 'NEXT'. Perhaps it was just my taste but it had a horrible after taste.

A week later I found a local B&M in the next town over that mixes their own juice and have been hooked so far. While I was there I picked up a couple of aspire clearomizers to keep with my evo since I couldn't fill them fast enough.

Needless to say, a week later and I'm now the proud owner of a k100+ with Nautilus tank. The learning curve is huge but I'm addicted!

I've purchased 1 pack of analogs in three weeks and haven't smoked one in two days. A huge hanks goes to the moderators and forum members! I look forward to getting to know all of you.

Welcome to ECF! K100 is a mechanical mod, correct? A mod without any circuitry? For longer overall battery life, you may want to look into a multimeter, or a volt meter if you don't have one. This way, you don't over drain the battery. Also, if you ever wish to get into rebuilding, look into an ohm meter to check the resistance of your coils.

K100 is mech mod. I've got a decent MM at home but unfortunately I'm on the road in D.C. I've been using the "fuse" (I know there is a term for this but can't remember) with my batteries and doing the periodic heat check. Eventually I will get into RBAs and look forward to getting an RDA as well. I figured the batteries that came with the k100 kit aren't that great so I will upgrade in the future. I just don't want to catch myself on fire for right now.

You sound like you're doing great then! The batteries with the kit should be okay for a little while, but I wouldn't use them long term. I usually see the green Sony VTC's recommended, and I personally use AW IMR's. Also, when you're ready to replace the batteries, look into a better charger then the kit provides as well. Some of the chargers of lesser quality can over charge a battery. The Nitcore i2 and i4 are great, and not that expensive. I think the i2 can be found for less the $20.

Thanks for the tips. I'm just now diving into the battery forum. I have noticed that the green light on the charger didn't come on when charging my 18650. Think I should pick up a cheap MM in the meantime? The battery isn't getting hot when charging so I haven't worried yet.
