I'm pretty new to mechanical mods so I'm not sure if this voltage drop is considered "normal". With my 0.5 ohm microcoil attached to my atomizer, I'm getting a voltage reading of about 3.2-3.3 volts off a freshly charged battery which I think is pretty low. I was under the impression that the voltage would be closer to 3.7V.

I'm using a SS and brass M16 clone by hcigar, Atomic rda clone by EHpro, and Sony VTC5 batteries. I'm running a 3 strand 30 gauge twisted wire wrapped around a 5/64" bit. I cleaned out everything today and managed to squeeze out a 3.5V reading max which I still think is really low.

So is a near 1V drop with a 0.5 ohm load normal?

thats a lot of drop...silver or silver plated copper contacts would help i am sure. i clean my threads with WD-40, then an alcohol wipe then apply a little NOALOX to the threads and contact points. not sure where you could get replacement contacts. i'm getting .3 drop on a stainless mod with silver contacts and .2 on my copper mods with copper contacts.good luck.

What charger are you using for your batteries ?

I'm using the Nitecore I4 charger and once the indicator reaches full, I pull them off. My multimeter reads 4.19-4.21 fresh off the charger

My contacts are already silver plated, but I'll try recleaning the contacts. I have noticed that occasionally a black layer of something appears on the negative terminal of my battery and the contact of my switch, does anyone know what this could be?

I'll look into that NOALOX stuff too, thanks so far, guys!
