Hi ECF I am fairly new to ecigs. I started vaping 1-21-12 - quit anaolgs five days after I started vaping. I consider myself an ex-smoker since I am off analogs.
Ecigs are such a confusing realm. All the parts and pieces. The more I read the more confused I become.
I am currently using a 510 with a LR (1.7 ohm) atomizer, and a drip tip, and direct dripping. I would love to get better vapor, TH and taste via an e-cig. But not sure what product to go with. I read the beginner's info pages. I have watched a ton of YouTube videos and considering the Ego with a tank system so I don't have to keep dripping ejuice every few vapes. Just not sure if this is the route I should take. When I use the fiber filled cartridges along with the standard resistance atomizer it feels like I have to pull too hard to get a good vape, like I am going to suck out a lung. I hope I am explaining what I am trying to say where you can understand it. I just want a good vaping experience where there is a ton of vapor and taste.
I feel that if I get the ideal vaping tool I will have the best chance at staying an ex-smoker.

Welcome the forums and happy to see you were able to kick the habit.

As far as what is the best device, vapor, and taste is going to be as subjective as juice. I am sure you are going to get a huge variety of responses on this question.

The best way to find out what works for you is to truthfully try it all. It is expensive but it really is the only way to find out what device, juice, etc will actually be the right fit for you.

There is no one size all sadly for this.

Welcome to the forums and congrats on being an ex-smoker.

Personally I like the 510 series: upside is that they are compatible; downside there are a lot of options. I use the eGo - T a lot. Some have trouble with leakage, but this can usually be overcome by being careful when removing the cap. It is made of hard plastic, so if you pry it off it will dent and burr, which can lead to leaking issues. Options are switching the caps out for a silicone cap (being softer it doesn't chip as much). You could also go to the eGo-C either now or later. I use them all with little trouble.

What nic liqs are you using or wanting to use?

I am using 11-12 mg nic ejuice both flavored ( I like Simply watermelon & strawberry bubble gum ) and different tobacco versions as well.
When I was an anolog user I smoked lights which were a lower nicotine product. So I go with a low nic ejuice.
I do like my 510, esp since I went with the drip tip and direct drip technique (and stopped using the catridges with
the fiber). I felt like the cartridges were restricting air flow. I was cking the Ego vs the Ego T and saw that with the Ego , I can use all my 510 parts. But with the Ego T I can only use Ego T parts. So going with the Ego T I will have to start from
scratch. What is the benefit of the Ego over the 510? Is is longer battery use time ? Or do you get better vapor or what?
thanks for your quick reply.
I am so happy to be smoke free. I never thought I would quit smoking. (*;*) It was simple to do with the e-cig.
I cannot believe ecigs are not used for smoking cessation devices.

You are correct - the eGo is really a stepping stone to theEeGo-T. They use the same batteries so maybe you might look into getting an eGo battery (which will work with your current equipment) then, if you need trade up to using a tank atty and tank cart. As I said- many options and almost too many.

The amount of VG and power can increase your vapor production if htat is what you are looking for. The eGO bateries come in a number of types and can just last longer or have additional power. The nice thing, though, is that they would all be compatible if you go up to a tank system. There are also many other "510 threading" options and equipment that will work as well - and I am sure we will hear from their supporters.

Vapor and TH is product of PG/VG/Power.. Higher PG and/or power = higher TH; higher VG = higher vapor (in general).

thanks Bradder . I hadn't considered just going with the Ego battery for my 510.
It is frustrating to constantly have to charge my battery. It may be b/c I am using the LR atomizer with my 510, that my
battery runs out faster ? I don't understand all the mechanics of ecigs yet. I got a couple of LR atomizers after reading I'd get a better vaping experience with the LR atomizer.

You might want to get two so one is charging - also consider making one or both a pass-through if you are sitting in office, home, whatever. It will charge as you vape and can be very handy.

A cig lighter/charger converter can also be had either locally or through a local store (for use in the car if you drive a lot - and you are from Texas :) where they get in their car to drive to a What-a-Burger across the street:laugh:). Shouldn't set you back too much and will give you an idea. And the best part is the item won't make your other items obsolete.

Of course if you have a few head of cattle you could sell, then you could buy....

Congrats and welcome to the forums! I got an Ego kit from a local store. It was overpriced, but I did like that they let me try out different stuff... In the mean time, I got some good inexpensive stuff that I am loving! A 5 volt pass through for only $10 and a variable voltage ego battery for $16.95. Added in some liquids and Boge cartos and I've become a chain vaper! I've had 2 minor problems so far. One of my atties got too much fluid and needs to be cleaned. I found that I had to really suck hard to get any vapor at all and that was sending my batteries to the charger every few hours! The other problem was a cracked tank. The ones that are made of polycarbonate (most of them) will crack with a lot of juices.... I've been drooling over some of the beautiful glass tanks on here, but they run at least $50, if you can find them!

Good Luck! There a tons of helpful people here that can answer any question you could possibly think of! :)

Congrats on kicking the nasty habit! My EGO w/ 36mg juice let me stop smoking on the first day.

I'm pretty much a clearomizer kinda guy, so I don't know that I can help much. IMO, TH is going to be related to nic level &/or voltage. I'm not really into vast plumes of vapor... I just doesn't flip my switch one way or the other. Flavor/taste can be addressed a number of ways - different products and/or different wattages (volts2/ohms). Remember your taste buds are still rejuvenating, so your tastes may change.

Good Luck!

p.s. ego-style batts will give longer charge time. My ego clones are rated @ 3.7v & 1100mAh, so they go a full day and then some on a charge. My 3.7v box mod w/a single 900mAh 14500 barely lasts a day. I regularly use clearos that are 2.6-2.8 ohms.
