1 - My friend got some sample juices from Johnson's Creek and they seem too liquidy to her. Should she add a drop or two of VG to the tiny 6ml bottle of juice to thicken it up?

1 - Where is a common place to get Proplyene Glycol? (Evidently they sell it by the gallon at Pet stores....how do we know what kind is safe, or is it all safe?)

If you want to thicken JC juice I'd use VG. It will thicken the juice and increase the vapor (although it will decrease flavor a bit. You can get the Wilton brand at Hobby Lobby for about $2 for a 2oz bottle. I'm currently cutting their Arctic Mint 24mg 2 parts juice to 1 part VG. It cuts the flavor a little but increases vapor a good deal. For me it's a good trade-off.

The only time I'd use PG to cut e-juice is when the juice already has the maximum amount of VG added (like some Vermont Vapor flavors and maybe the reduced JC stuff). Some flavors like menthol can only take so much VG and remain disolved in liquid... at least that's what Adam at Vermont Vapor told me. I cut their 36mg cool mint and menthol 2 parts juice to 1 part PG and it works fine. Just make sure you work with small batches until you find the right combo for you.
