This morning at 7:30AM, I passed the 14 days without a cigarette mark!!! :2cool:

I still can't believe that I was able to just stop like this after 30 years. I always had visions of this being a really difficult thing to do. I remember times where I had run out of cigarettes, and about how all I could think about was begging, borrowing, or stealing a cigarette until I had one firmly planted in my blow hole. I had worse withdrawals making it to the end of a work day without a cigarette than I have since I stopped smoking and started vaping 2 weeks ago. For the record, I haven't had the urge to smoke once since I committed to vaping. Not even a thought about it...

I had a very encouraging experience yesterday, a test. I forgot to grab my charger when I left for work yesterday morning. As it turns out, I had also left thehouse with 2 partially charged batteries, and one of them was much lower than I thought. Around 3:00 in the afternoon, BOTH of them died. I had been planning on picking up another charger for my car anyway, so I decided to stop by the vape shop on my way home from work to pick one up. I left work around 4:15, and walked in the door of the vape store at around 5:30 (yeah... DC traffic sucks...). There were 5 or 6 people vaping in the store. I hadn't had a hit in just about 2 hours. They have a liquid sample station on the counter, and I knew that they have the high nicotine juice in the tester tanks. All I had to do was ask to sample some flavors, and they would have handed me a working cig. The guy asks me what I need, and I tell him. He goes in the back, and then returns to tell me that they are out of car charger cords. I said "thanks", and left. I drove the rest of the way home and got there at about 6:30pm. I put a battery on my charger, and gave it 20 minutes to charge before "lighting up". As I sat there vaping, I realized that it was fairly easy to go over 3 hours and 45 minutes without vaping. I was shocked. Now I can tell you for sure that there would have been no way in hell that I would have ever made it that long without a "nic fix" if I was still on real cigarettes. I certainly would not have been able to stand hanging out near people smoking next to me for 10 minutes without caving in immediately.

Vaping is going to work!

Awesome job MD. I'm at 18 days so pretty close to you and I'm scared to not have an extra batt on me. Course I let myself down easy by smoking 1-10 a day (decrescendo) while getting used to vaping for the first month or so. I still get a little jittery when I go for my device and it's somewhere else (I'm at work so it gets left in random places throughout the day). I'm just glad I don't go reaching for a pack of Marlboros anymore, and I have a couple back-up egos just in case something happens to my shiny mod.

Great story! I haven't run into a battery issue yet (knock on wood!), but I've also noticed that I can go longer periods of time between vaping than I ever could between smokes. When I was smoking, I would run outside 6-8 times throughout the workday for a couple puffs on a cigarette. Yesterday, I came into the office at 8am, and at 12pm I realized that I hadn't gone outside to vape yet. Amazing, and definitely not something I could have done while I was in my smoking days.

Congrats on making the switch! :D

congrats MD Boater, the desire to smoke is the only hold back to vaping that really exist, you have finished that for sure.Smoking cigs is as old school to "Chitty Chitty Bang Bang" with the coughing and polution that smokes are, smoking is done for most of the young. As for your ability to catch fresh strippers of the bay, im jealous to say the least enjoy that bay its one of the World Wonders I know.

Great to hear. I can now leave my PV home, while I go out and run some errands. I find that even after I get home, I'm not rushing to have a VAPE.
Sometimes I look at the clock, in the morning and notice that I have been working, for 3 - 4 hours, without reaching for one of my setups.

Never would've happened if I was still smoking.

Keep it up!

I sat with my dad at the hospital the other day while he had some tests run. I was pretty stressed because they were doing a stress test on him using drugs (stimulants). He is in his mid 70s and i have a phobia of hospitals too. Ive lost too many relatives to "simple procedures" so i was not in the best of moods on arriving. Plus traffic was a nightmare on the way to his house at 8am.

The whole ordeal lasted roughly 3 hours. I was very surprised i was not DYING for a puff. I sat there calmly the whole time. A couple puffs of 12mg on the ride home did feel good but my nic dependency has definitely improved by reducing it slowly. Going from 16mg to 12mg has not been easy but i think i can almost do it now.

Congrats MD_Boater!
I guess that's why they say, "get back ups for your back ups".

Okay.. .you win. I just placed my order for an iTaste MVP 2.0 an hour ago. I think that one will have enough battery to keep me going. My 2 Kanger EVOD VV 650maH batteries will be backup and backup to my backup... :D
