Thanks ya'll! I loved reading the stories you shared as well. Makes it all worthwhile. I have a "consultation" I'm doing over the holidays for family, to get some more of them set up with the "right" juice, etc.. for their New Years standard quit smoking resolutions...

These are the same people that scoffed 2 years ago, and asked if I was smoking crack in that thang! Funny how time and consistency is proof enough to get the haters to quit hating!!! I would never tell them "I told you so," but I can tell you guys! :) I TOLD THEM SO!!!

Two years is excellent. Congrats!

I'm working on two months after 35 years smoking. It's a bad addiction, nothing else worked. Would I still smoke? Probably but I have resisted the urge to buy them. I hate spending 11$ a day and smelling like a smoker. I probably just exchanged one habit for another but this is healthier and less costly. No coughing, no stinking of smoke when I walk into a client's office. What I have spent on gear for vaping so far equals about 12 days of smokes. I wish everyone the best of luck in quitting smoking.

Razorback,
Yours is a great success story! I am sure you feel much better, and the weight, though it may concern you, is not as dangerous as the smoking was. I, too give away set-ups to people who would like to try vaping. More, and more people are interested, as our stories of giving up the cigs, is spreading far and wide!
Join the CASAA and carry your story to the FDA, or Big Tobacco will win and all we will have will be cigalikes. (YECH!) It was so easy for me to start vaping, it was everything, smoking used to be: a way to relax, smoke indoors, and not smell.
The protanks make it enjoyable to vape. You got the right idea. Keep it up and vape on, and on and on!

I don't know. There's nothing wrong with cig-a-likes. They satisfy the urges and don't put smoke in your lungs. Like I mentioned earlier, I was a smoker for over 50 years. All that got me was COPD and the incentive to quit smoking. A cig-a-like did it for me, and did it practically over-night.

When I started vaping I was trying to save my life ... not start a new hobby. The cig-a-likes do the job very well, but only if the intent is to stop smoking. Anything else is vanity and overkill.

When I get around to quitting nicotine, I'll also stop vaping altogether. To me, vaping was a means to an end ... stop the smoke while using an alternate nicotine delivery system. When I feel strong enough to stop nicotine, I'll throw out a bunch of spare cartomizers and a few cheap batteries. I won't be needing them anymore... and I won't have to contend with shiny and expensive contraptions left over to lure me back.

I too started with the cig-alikes, but they didn't quite do it for me. The first upgrade I got was an Ego-C, and Vivi Nova Clearomizer. With that, I was able to finally quit. But I think you're right, alot of this is overkill: enjoyable shiny exciting overkill, but nonetheless overkill. But what the heck, you only live once.

I for one (and of course everyone here too) am glad you found the cig-alike and it did the trick for you! Looks like you got me beat by 1 year, 1 month, 1 week, and a few days! = my new hero!

Whatever works for you is good and if to quit tobacco was your goal then that's great. I do think many vapors get in the mind set that since they gave up tobacco they are now suddenly healthy. I don't believe it, many do, but I just don't agree. Sure it may be better then smoking but then again inhaling liquid chemicals into your body can't be considered healthy for anyone.

Congrats Razorback! You're not bragging at all! I feel it an inspiration actually. As I've just started vaping and have only quit cigarettes for a few days now. I am looking forward to the day I can be in your shoes and say I have been cigarette free for 2 years. (And more!) :)

That's awesome. Thanks! You can do this!

You just said you'd quit cigarettes for a few days. That's one of the toughest legs of the journey JustMeB... the first few days!! :) :toast:

My biggest test was Thanksgiving at my moms house.

7 out of 9 people there were smokers. Chain smokers.

I didn't smoke a single stick. I did however vape more that day than in any other single setting since I started!!

It was tough but I did it!! I'm now 7 weeks with no cigs. I did have a cigar at a wedding, but that's okay with me. Cigars are limited to special occasions and always have been for me.

I'm down with the occasional cigar myself! :) Like twice a year tops!
