Smoked for 40 years. NEVER AGAIN! Switched to vaping September 21, 2015. Very happy, love the flavours and couldn't imaging ever smoking analog cigs again. Time to start mixing my own juice to save some serious $$$. Still on 18mg nicotine but plan on cutting that down slowly but surely.

Welcome to ECF Justin :). Making your own juice can really cut down on your vape expenses. I've been doing it for a while now.

There is a very active DIY E-liquid sub-forum here that you can post in after you have 5 posts on ECF. There's tons of info there on the subject and a lot of folks that are willing to share their knowledge.

Welcome and congrats!

Best advice I can give you is; slow down on cutting back the nicotine. You smoked for 40 years, give your body time to adjust...gradually.

A lot of vapers get in a hurry to quit vaping and end up right back on the stinkies again.

Also:

Backups, backups, backups.

Good luck and hope to see you posting on your one year anniversary.

Hi, Justin, and welcome to ECF!

As Zapped said, don't be in a rush to reduce the nic. Don't want to set yourself up for a relapse! Go too low too soon, and the cravings may return!

(And besides, nic without the combustion products, is about as harmful as caffeine, and may be useful for various conditions. http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC526783/ )

Thanks everyone for the warm welcome. I don't plan on cutting the nic levels to quickly, and I have 500ml of 100mg nic on hand so it will last me quite a while and I will cut it down nice and slow ...

I have one little question: how can I have that little banner (below) that says how long ago I quit to automatically show up on my posts? What is the setting? (I'm pasting it for every post right now and that is a pain)

Once you have enough posts (and probably do, by now), click on one you like. Mine's just from the ECF selection. Enter the relevant data, done. :)
