Congratulations on your first 23 hour's! ! Just remember, if you slip, its not the end of the world and you shouldn't be disappointed. You are fighting a 30 year old habit and that takes time, at least 30 days for the mind to form a new habit. Just try again. My wife and I tried to swicth in one day, tested our marriage let me tell you but we were able to completely kick cigarettes after four days of substitution.

Good luck!

You've got this licked, no sweat!

I smoked my last cigarette 20 minutes after I bought my e-cig. Haven't looked back. Yes, I had cravings the first week, mostly in the mornings while my nicotine levels were still low. That's the beauty of an e-cig, it makes an awesome crutch, just lean on it harder and you'll make it through! After the first week was over, I've barely thought about analogs. I've kept my stinkies and lighter within arm's reach the whole time, haven't touched them.

You're on your way!

It took me about two weeks after starting vaping to put the cigs away. Haven't had one since and don't want one, either! Yes, you can do it. Chain vape when the urge hits. Keep your PV in your hand 24/7. It will get better with time. If you slip and smoke, don't fret. Just pick up the PV and start again. You'll get there! Good luck on your journey and welcom to ECF.:)

I came from sickness so I can't comment on how you feel, but lots of folks say...just vape for the vaping..and the cigs will go their merry way into oblivion...

I like how you put that, "vape for the vaping...". People ask me how long I'm gonna vape. I always tell them something in the range of, "until I stop. I'm not worried about it". I smoked cigs for 16 years. I'm only 33 now and have been smoke-free for a bit over a month. I haven't known an adult life without cigarettes until now. That's nuts!! When will I stop vapin'? When I don't like it anymore...

This morning I began using the White Rhino Liquid. Haven't smoked since last night. The White Rhino isn't the same as a cigarette but it's doing it's job. I think I can, I think I can, I think I can...! It's been 30 years of daily smoking...I think if I can hold out for seven days, I can do this...I think! :)

Hey there kj67, keep checking in here, and tell us how it is going
Not only do you think you can....but YOU CAN...you have made the first best step, 7 days no sweat, we are all in your corner....:w00t:

It's a little tricky at first, but hang in there. After day 10 I was good to go. I actually had one of my husband's cigarettes after a bad day somewhere in my 2nd month of vaping and surprised myself by putting it out after 3 puffs. It tasted rotten to me. It wasn't until that moment that I knew cigarettes were a thing of the past for me. Today is day 108!

I didn't slip at all for a month, I rarely drink, Last night I had a few beers, all my juice I find far to sweet to go with beer so said **** it and had a real ciggi ! Felt like a ...... addict or something.

I guess you captured the whole point, right? We are addicts... Unfortunately, smoking has been framed as purely a personal choice and/or habitual. To me, I recognize that I have to be abstinent from cigs. because I'm addicted to them and fear that I might "slip" into 20 of them after a couple (or just one). Try not to be so hard on yourself. You're flawed...just like all of us here. I do feel fortunate, though, that I have vaping because other "users" cannot emulate their drug of choice (sans O'Duels- sp?). We can have the feeling without all the death and stuff. Stay focused: you got this. Good luck.

Whew ok it's now 34 hours and counting. Thank you all for your kind words, they really motivate me. I didn't know there was a big vaping world going on...it's like another dimension lol. All the special things involved...I've been scanning through this site and wow, It's exciting :) So I have noticed that my cravings are less. I'm up at 3 am because my 22 yo and her friends are noisily raiding the kitchen, but I'm having a vape with my coffee and I feel like my crave for a cigarette is less strong woot.

This is the first time I've made it this far, so if I can, anybody can!! I've smoked for nearly 50 years. Hopefully you have a vape store you can get to and find some juice you like. And don't worry if you slip and have a smoke. Just think of all the cigs you AREN'T having. Keep us posted!!

I needed to lose some weight so I started to diet. One week later I purchased my e-cig starter kit. All my life I have heard "Don't try to lose weigh and stop smoking at the same time" Well.......almost 3 months later no analogs since day two and I am 25 pounds lighter. Five more pounds to my goal. I had smoked 2 PAD of analogs for over 40 years

Ain't Vaping great.

Congratulations on your decision. You will have numerous urges to light up an analog but just vape harder. The urge passes quickly.

I'm here with you! I'm finding that I just don't like any flavor. I guess I'm stuck with menthol juice.

I was like that for the first week, then I found out what really worked for most Menthol users. Cinnamon Juices. I got a few from Syco Drops that have been perfect. Evil Goddess and Hot Berry Sunset. You should look into them. SYCO DROPS
