24 gauge Nano Coils

So, I have been using e-cigs since 2008, and exclusively since 2010. I have found my preference in an RDA is the nano coil. I have experimented with all kinds of wire, wick, vw mods, mechs you name it I have most likely tried it. The biggest problem that comes with nano coils is the way they are wicked. I currently run 24 gauge wire wrapped around a 18 g or 20 g with 9-10 wraps. It is...pretty strong for most people, vapor is hot and dense, but the flavor I find is, well, better. The flavor is stronger and I can taste my juice better in these set-ups. They are very high demand on the battery and the mod of course, normally clocking in at .2-.4 ohms. I don't "cloud chase" I prefer to take short burst inhales maybe 1 second long while still getting a decent amount of vapor. I have found this technique is less stressful for my battery and in general, I like it this way. My usual wick set-up is simply to stuff cotton under the coils and press them down into it leaving one of the coil ends exposed. I have tried variations of this and they don't seem to impress. The way I really prefer it is to put a thin wick through the coil and stuff under it, but it happens that nano coils get very hot very fast and after 25-50 hits, the wick through the coils breaks. Does anyone else vape on a similar set-up as mine and what wicking techniques have you found useful?
