DOA.. is quite high in my opinion.. out of the first six we ever bought 2 were DOA.. that 33%. its the solid state electronic part.. our supplier replaced them no problem..

always buy some spares.. we have never had such high DOA rate since out first lot.. that might be a bad example.. lets just say we always buy spares..

i really dont know what the average DOA is.. but it exists and should be allowed for.. ..

I'm new to e-smoking - I've been at it for less than 2 days. My mini arrived with the post at 8.00am on Saturday morning and worked gloriously until 10pm on Sunday when the atomizer just stopped producing vapour  luckily I had purchased a spare so I'm still puffing away.

It has however tempered my original delight with this technology - I don't want to go spending more on spare parts for e-cigs than I do (did) on my normal smoking habit 8-o

I've just ordered two more atomizers but until they arrive I'm puffing away on my e-gig worried that each puff is going to be my last for a while - not happy - I was so p!$$ed off when the atomizer went that I had to roll one up :p

the odd roll up wont do any harm..he he.. but spare parts are a part of the e cig running costs..

Yep - I've had 3 rollies a day since I got the e-cig which is a big step down from my usual 30+. I don't really need them it's just every now and then I fancy a change from vaping.

I'm running a spreadsheet to keep track of e-cig costs & to compare them to what I would have spent on roll-ups. Initial start up costs are the biggie - hopefully over a 6 month period the cost of the fluid + replacement atomizers + batteries should be less than my smoking habit.

A bit of good news (maybe) - I contacted the seller who I bought the kit from - he agreed that the atomizer should have lasted longer than 40 hours and will send me a new one when he gets new stock - watch this space

Received 4 x 901b from electronic cigarette company.co.uk last week. 1x battery was faulty (air flow switch stuck 'on') so overheated atomizer too hot to hold!
1x atomizer was dead on arrival. Was i just unlucky or is this the normal failure rate for minis?
Great service from the supplier though, both faulty items have been replaced.

I would say that's not a bad estimate of anything coming out of China and is one of the reasons that we visit there regularly, in order to instill some consistency and quality control and to instigate improvements in certain areas so that we don't have to reject a quarter of our orders. We also test every unit during assembly and charge the batteries, a mind numbing job but worth it as we have much fewer problems with faulty items.
Imagine 250 vapourisers all overheating in the cargo hold of a plane.....
John.
