So ive had my Mutant for about a week, and recently (yesterday and today) the button is super difficult to push in.. If i adjust the pins so that the battery doesnt rattle, and the caps are flush, it wont fire.. if i let the top pin out further and the bottom cap isnt sitting flush, but is tight, it fires, but its super hard to hit the button, and theres barely a button throw.. The whole button/ bottom cap is magnetic, with a magnet connecting to the battery, and opposes the magnet in the button. any suggestions to fix this? or should i go back to the shop i got it from and ask for a replacement?

I can get mine to fire, i just have to press the button pretty hard.. kinda a PITA but if you switch fingers its alright. I just loosen the second positive pin out almost all the way, screw that on the top (make sure battery and bottom arent conected at this point) then throw the battery in, and then the switch untill it gets a little tight (leaves a gap in between the bottom and the tube, but it works). Idk if its hitting as hard as it should, but it definetly throws clouds. This also helped the button throw slightly doing it this way, just barely tho. Had a lot of time on watch last night to mess around with it and figure out something that worked.

Its just a total PITA, I mean it's two magnets that make contact to fire. I know they are making contact but wont fire unless I press super hard and or only certain sides of the button. Most times its not at all. I've tried to configure the switch and top pin in many positions but nothing seems to work 100%. Really sucks because there really isn't anything else to mess with. Makes no sense.

Scratches head.

Here is the fix guys. The magnet on the switch needs to be tapped in flush. And that is the fix of the day

I tried this by tapping pretty dard hard with a punch and small hammer. I cant get it to move!

Dana

I am NOT recommending this but I put a piece of wood over the magnet and wacked it with a real hammer. 2 times and I was set. Again I am not saying do this, try at your own risk.

Thanks Shawn, Its firing ok but I got some battery rattle, If I unscrew the 510 pin a little then it fires by itself as the battery pushed the switch down. If the switch magnet was lower then the delrin would prevent this I think?

Dana

That battery rattle isn't up and down it's side to side slightly. I don't think you can get rid of that.
