27G Kanthal and High VG

Hey guys,

so I've been building 0.5 coils with my 5 wraps of 27G Kanthal (with the Subtank Mini's Screwdriver) and so far so good (with 40/60, 50/50) but I wondered if this coil could kick 70/30 or 80/20 VG/PG juices just fine..

I'm calling out to the experienced out there as I just started building a month ago.. Any ideas on what to do?

I run 70/30 exclusively in my RTAs with no trouble. Many do. Go for it.

It's NOT the coil that has issues with high VG juice.. It is the wick and wicking methods that have issues. Any coil will work with any juice. BUT the wicking ability is affected by Juice viscosity.

Haa I see, so my build is ok and I just have to make sure my wick is correct?

I guess in this case I'll have to put less cotton to avoid dry hits?

More or less, kinda depends on IF the amount you are currently using is wrong. Really it about HOW you wick. Maybe cotton is the wrong material, maybe not, maybe you need more maybe not, maybe cotton balls would work better than pads, maybe rayon would be better, maybe silica/ceramic would.

Then there the human factor, maybe you just need to drip more.. maybe you need more or less airflow, maybe you need more or less power. maybe you just need to wrap the coils with a larger or smaller ID.

Point is there is rarely a single fix to be made, as any change made to one part affect the others.
