2nd attempt at RM2 build. Advice?

Thanks a ton for all the helpful suggestions on the last thread. This forum really is an amazing place. This 2nd coil is my attempt at taking the advice. The air hole is now in right where the higher wick is. The good news is, it worked! But holy mackerel, it the throat hit is intense!

Vapor is low, and flavor is low. I searched a bit, and it seems like maybe I should lower the coil? Is there a way to lower throat hit (never thought I'd say that) while making it warmer (it is very cool as it is) and with more flavor?

It reads 1.7 ohms and is 8 wraps around a 1/16 inch allen wrench with 28 g Kenthal.

A lot of people have to drop a nic level when they switch to drippers.

This could be what's giving you that throat hit.

You could always try drilling out the air hole. That'll aid in vapor production, but will cool your vape a bit.

This is actually super helpful, partly because it would explain why it feels like someone put .... in my e juice.

Before I discovered Genesis-Styles/drippers, I was 24mg. I now put nothing above 12mg in my Reo. The nicotine delivery is much more efficient compared to a clearo or carto.

I would suggest that you push the coil down towards the ceramic cup to decrease TH. To make the vape warmer, lose a wrap or 2 from your coil to come in at 1.0-1.2 ohm.

As for your problem with low flavor and vapor, I suspect you may be using too much wick. I'm guessing that is cotton in there? Try using less as it only takes a tiny bit to wick well

Looks good Ed. Yes, lowering the coil will reduce TH. Just go in small increments. I adjust mine so the low side is just off the bottom of the deck and the high side is just slightly higher

Also, make sure the air hole is lined up with the coil to hit it dead center as best you can. With the top screwed on, pull the drip tip and look down into the RM2 to see where the hole lines up with coil. I drilled my air hole to 1/16" and it really opened things up for max vapor. My go-to coil is 9 wraps of 28g K around a 1/16 drill bit - frickin fog machine.

Im super new to reoville, reo's and rm2's. The rm2 was my first rba ever. I keep my coil as low to the base as possible without it touching and as far away from the pins without it touching the cover. My ohms end up around 1.4ish which seemed to help improve my flavor immensely. i also use a little 1/16 allen wrench.

If I can recoil and rewick the rm2's, anyone, ANYONE can.

In my short time in reoville, i've learned that for me it seems only certain juices/vendors taste good in my reo no matter what i do to the coil/air hole facing. Which is a bad thing because there's many vendors and juices I like, and a good thing because I can buy more juice
