Well, my gorgeous RM2 just arrived yesterday and I wrapped a coil almost immediately.

28 gauge Kanthal A1 - 10 wraps around a blunt tip syringe (don't know the size...it came off of a 50ml syringe)
CVS Sterile Rolled Cotton wick

Came in at 1.6 ohms on my tester (Vamo)

Took me about 10 minutes or so. No problems at all.

Nice vape, but throat hit lacking even though I have the coil high, etc.

Attempt #'s 2,3 & 4

1.7 ohms
1.5 ohms
1.2 ohms (8 wraps)

The 8-wrap coil is my favorite so far. It's producing clouds of great vapor, throat hit and flavor.

I think the smartest thing any vaper can do is to follow Rob through his line of products and stick with them. They are the best of the best.

Thank you to all of REOville.

Glad to hear you got a coil that is working good for ya!

The RM2 is very simple. But coil positioning is a bit tricky at first. The couple mm of movement up, down, towards the posts or towards the air hole can make a huge difference. That along with coil ohms.

I found that just building a few coils and then working with each on positions gave me a good idea of where I need to be. Then it was easy and quick to make a coil and put it just where I knew it would produce great flavor, heat, and vapor!

jif.....
My first coil build for my RM2 was (is) also 1.2 ohms....30ga kanthal, 6/7 wrap on a 3/64" arbor, cotton wick/bed...
First-Class vaping, for sure!!!:D
Waiting for Rob to release the IGO-S mod he's working on.....I love the -L's, but the -S should fit better aesthetically on the Grand...
When the retro kit comes out...I'll probably try my hand at a sub-ohm coil or 2....but no hurry!!;)
Happy (vaping) Trails!
