My luckiest day was the day that I DID NOT fall off of the Gemini roller coaster at Cedar Point in Ohio. I didn't put the lap bar down far enough, and before they start the ride they lock the lap bars so they don't go up or down while the ride is moving. Going down the first hill, I raised my arms and slipped all of the way out of the seat until by .... was on the headrest part of the seat. As soon as I felt myself lifting from the seat I grabbed the lap bar and held on for dear life. My husband and my friend were in the seats in front of me, they actually heard me scream in a way that they described as a "not having fun on a roller coaster" kind of scream. They saw me pulling myself back down...I managed to pull myself to the point where the headrest was at about the middle of my back. When we hit the bottom of the hill I slammed back down into the seat and held on for dear life for the rest of the ride. If you have ever been on that ride, you know that at the bottom of the first hill there is wooden frame above your head, and even when you are all of the way in the seat you feel like you are going to bonk your head on it...I was REALLY afraid that I was going to bonk my head on it, but obviously did not. Nobody else noticed...so I just went on my way after the ride was done.
That was one of the freakiest-coolest-deadliest things that has ever happened to me. So lucky I didn't fly off!!
