vaping over a year.... 3.7 Reo Grand since Dec 2010. Past 3 months atomizers AND cartomizers (not EM but well known attys) dying after several GREAT vapes even though both tested Good on MM. When I take the NEW atty off and test, sometimes I get 30.1 readings or higher or just plain no reading. The battery continues to test at 4.1 or 3.9..... but atty or carto is fried.

I've heard a battery can be bad even though it's testing good. I've had these batteries since December and they recharge back to 4.1 reading, using my PILA. I reluctantly ordered two more AW IMR 18650 1600 mAh to see what happens but wanted to see if anyone has gone through a similar frustrating episode of not being able to figure out what the #@@$$## is wrong. I've been Vaping the same juice BWB Espresso 70/30 ..... surely it's not the juice????

Has anyone experienced batteries testing good on MM but you keep frying atomizers and cartomizers at the speed of light even though they vape great in the beginning? I've had my Reo inspected and all is okay thanks to Rob's great customer service. I know it's always hit or miss with attys but this has been ridiculous. I've done the Nola, cleaned everything, same results!! Just went thur another two new LR510 attys and one cartomizer today. I haven't had an atty or cartomizer last for more than one day the past several months..... Grrrr

Try the atties on a different mod e.g not bottom fed. You might be vaping in a semi flooded condition which is worst than vaping them dry but not getting the burnt taste.

For some reason many folks are having this problem with the Reos. If you have a STD (not IMR) batt give that a whirl and see how you make out. IMRs are powerful batts and because there is no protection circuit in them may be providing too much current to the atty, something that will not happen with protected batts.

Hope this helps :)

Thank you very much for your suggestions but unfortunately, I only have a Reo Grand mod. I also experienced this problem using standard protected batteries (UltraFire 18650 Protected and AW 18650 protected) so, that rules out the AW IMR. The flooding issue being worse than dry vaping is interesting and I will cut back on squonking to prevent potential flooding.

This is the first time reading "many" Reo owners are experiencing this problem because I'm not on ECF daily to follow Reo discussions. I've only read great things about the Reo from seasoned users like myself. The only negatives I've read are from noobs still in the learning curve with a Reo that has been quickly rectified by the Reo Forum. It's my understanding there is very little that can go wrong with a Reo because it's mechanical versus all the wiring other mods have. I just find this recent (3month) problem strange because I've owned my Reo since December 2010. Thank you again for your suggestions.
