Mark,
I have currently tried a few different products, from a 2 peice 510 setup to a 3 peice 510 setup to a 2 peice EGO setup to a 3 peice EGO set up, to both on my screwdriver as well. The 2peice (carto) setup worked on teh EGO but left alot to be desired by me. On teh screwdriver I find the 2 peice to fry my liquid and on the 3 peice Screwdriver set up I found I get more vapor than smoke off an analog, great throat hit and absolutely no desire for an analog, something that took me a month to find. I think different people have different reactions to the way nicotene is dispensed. So what works for you may not work for me and what works for me may not work for you

Not a fan of cart's either got to fiddle around with them all the time while your puffing on them, may as well just cut out the middle man and drip then. Carto's work great for me, I can go an hour or more with out having to mess around with anything.

mudboy might need to try carto with higher ohm's on your screwdriver it'll run cooler.

I think that once you have found your all day vape, cartomizers are probably the way to go. But if you are like me and still trying many different flavors from several different vendors, it is easier to switch out with the attys and carts.

My first and only experience with cartomizers was not good. The juices all took on a "baked" flavor. Granted, nothing is wrong with a baked apple, but it didn't seem right vaping that baked flavor.

I was a 3 week newbie at the time, so I probably was doing something incorrectly. I plan on trying cartos again in the future, once I narrow it down to half a dozen or so flavors I really like.

I don't think my experience is exactly typical, from what I have read on here...

But cartos last me two or three drags and then I start burning the filling.
Since I was a HEAVY smoker and vaping doesn't exactly match the experience, I find myself vaping near constantly much of the time which meant changing cartos every few minutes. Admittedly, with 6 cartos in rotation by the time I got to #6 the first one was good for a drag again, but...

Yeah, two piece wasn't enough.
The three piece I got was better, but not by much.

A liquid feeder, on the other hand- no polyfill or foam to burn, a much larger amount of fluid and long battery life.
That is what it has taken for me to be satisfied.

I started out with a 2 piece system (GreenSmoke..yuk..suck) and I wasn't impressed with cartos at all. When I got my Riva, I started with a 3 piece. It took some time and patience to get it working right, but I love it. I recently started trying cartos again and I like them, but I'm not sure that I want to use them on a regular basis.

I tied a couple different ohms 2 and just a regular one which measures out to 2.5. I will give them a shot again on my next order this time in a higher ohm. I'm also thinking of trying larger carts because of how good tehy are working for me,. Like I said I hated carts/attys on my 510s/egos.

Two or three drags was all you got from a cartomizer? How many drops did you put into the carto? A carto will last me about an hour (at least 100 drags), and that's with constant vaping.

I haven't tried cartomizers, but I don't see the point. I imagine they take up at least the same amount of space as a cartridge, so if I want multiple flavors I gotta carry around a bunch of cartos and a bunch of bottles to refill them. Plus if the atomizer part of a carto burns out, what happens to the juice that's left inside?

Anyway, while they might be a little more convenient than carts, it just seems like more hassle than I need. Plus then I hear about this condom refilling crap and using syringes... Screw that. I just screw on a drip tip, grab a bottle, and get the hell out the door. When my e-cig runs dry, I drip another couple drops in it. Very simple. I'm interested in finding out how well that new 510 atomizer with juice reservoir works. That I think I could do, depending on how it works and how WELL it works. But for now, I just drip. The way I see it, I can either carry condoms, paper clips, juice bottles, paper towels, caps, and a bunch of cartos or carts depending on which I'm using, or I can eliminate the need for all the BS and just carry juice bottles. And with the cart/carto options, if i'm not carrying juice bottles to refill them, then I'd be carrying an assload of carts/cartos. I don't feel like having the things just floating around loose in my pockets, and I don't feel like spending money on a cigarette pack-sized PCC or some stupid camera case that I need to carry everytime I leave the house. That is why I use a 3 piece system. I drip. It tastes great, and it's the lesser of 3 evils, I feel, as far as the pain in the ... factor is concerned.

I've got the 3-piece Tornado (Ego). It was the 1st one purchased (about 7 weeks ago) and I'm very happy with it. Neighbor has the standard 510 and uses cartomizers. Tried one of them yesterday, and while it was nice not having to add juice all the time, I felt that it gives a very dry hit after awhile and I did not get the warm vapor that the normal set-up provides. I also tried an LR510 atomizer a few weeks ago and did not like it. Burns so hot that you lose the flavor.

The thing is, cigarettes are easy. Pull one out of the pack, flick the lighter and done. Any of the PV's are going to be more of a PIA, but IMO worth it. Kind of like smoking a pipe so far as care and maintenance goes. BUT, it has succeeded in getting me off smokes after almost 50 years.

I do plan to try dripping at least for those times when it is convenient. I am very grateful for the development of these and for all of the knowledge available in this forum. Only time will tell, and as the saying goes, "Nobody gets out alive", but hopefully the PV will save me from a premature death.

And there we have one of the good things about the current PV market: devices to suit just about anyone:
2 piece
3 piece
drip
liquid
and more exotic stuff too!

And to answer deback:
in an empty E9 carto I can get 16 to 18 drops of juice.
And if I don't top up after 3 drags I will be burning filler by the 7th.

There are much easier ways to use cartomizers than what you described. Personally, I don't want to take the extra time to be dripping constantly. When I drip, without using the pita cartridges, I have to drip 3 drops every couple of minutes, and there's usually some liquid on the outside of the atomizer, which ends up on my hands.

I also don't want the inconvenience of using the pita cartridges and fillers inside, so I don't use cartridges.

If I'm gonna have to drip, I'll just drip the juice directly into the filler of the cartomizer, and that carto will last me at least an hour, with constant vaping. That's how easy using cartomizers is. I don't have to drip every few minutes or mess around with a cart filler or mess around with modifying a cart filler to make it work right.

When I fill empty new cartos (I've used Boge 510, KR808D-1, and 4081), they each take 25 to 30 drops of juice. When I refill cartos, they take about 12 to 18 drops of juice. Sounds like you're not putting enough liquid into your new cartos. It doesn't make sense that you're having to add liquid after 3 to 6 drags, unless you're underfilling the carto. I get at least 100 drags with each carto, which takes me about an hour to do.

I don't have to drip 3 drops every couple minutes. It all depends on how much I use it. It leaks sometimes, but so do cartridges. The way I see it, dripping requires me to carry less BS around with me. Instead of carts/cartos and juice bottles(plus other stupid crap like paper clips for messing with cart filler, and condoms/syringes like I keep hearing about with cartos/carts), I just carry the bottles. All I need is my 510 unit, a bottle, and a PCC. with carts and cartos you need all that too, but then you need extra crap. and I never have to change my drip tip or worry about using up all of the flavor in a cart/carto. If I want another flavor, I just drip that flavor. It's the least possible hassle for me.

The 3 drops every couple of minutes is when vaping constantly (like about 5 to 10 drags, depending on how long one drags on it). Sorry that I didn't clarify that.

I understand what you mean about carrying lots of stuff, but now that I've been vaping for two months, I've got it down to (when I go somewhere and will be gone for a while) just taking two batteries (should only need one, though, but take an extra just in case) and a little box that contains 8 cartomizers. I don't have to drip when I'm gone; just screw on a carto when the one I'm using gets empty.

I don't take any PCCs, bottles, carts, paper clips, q-tips, condoms, syringes, or fillers. Just 2 batteries and a box of 8 cartos. Here's a picture of the box that I bought from Walmart (three little magnetic boxes, with plastic windows, that hold eight cartos each) for $3.88, and can be found in the Office Supplies area. The original purpose is for paper clips, tacks, etc:

Well, the reason you don't have a PCC is because you have what appears to be an ego or some other big similar thing. I have a 510, so I need a PCC or I'd only be able to use it for a few hours. Also, I must take really short drags. I pretty much drag on it just like a real cigarette.
