Hi All,
Yep, Another Newbie!
I have smoked between a pack to a pack and a half of analogs per day for the last 36 years. I tried to quit a few times but was never able to make it stick more than a day or two. Now the govt. has forced me to try to take another stab at it or at least find an alternative. Last year our company (with help from the Pa. state govt.) banned smoking anywhere on the company property. Of course I cheated by stepping out back and around the corner a few times a day. I even smoked inside a few times in a well ventilated area. After getting caught a few times I figured it was time to find a better way. Besides, It's cold out there.
I started out by buying a Premium E-Cigarette's 111 Kit. After a few days of use I found that I could make it all day without lighting up. For those of you that are not familiar with the Premium E-Cigarette, it has a disposable pre-juiced atomizer cartridge and the rechargable battery (2 pcs). It automatically atomizes as you inhale. Normally when the cartridge is used up you throw it a way (usually 1 day use) even though the atty was still good. I hated throwing them away. Also, I smoke menthol and was not as satisfied as I could be with the amount of vapor or the amount of menthol I was getting. Now after 3 weeks I am down to 3 analogs a day but I figured I could do better as far as quality. I dissected one of my spent cartridges and discovered that I could very easily refill them. (Just pop out the end cap and the rubber buffer ring, add more E-juice and reassemble) I purchased some CASH True Menthol from Puresmoker.Com and added it to the old dried up cartridges that I had saved over the last week. WOW!! what a difference. Not only do I can get a lot more use out of each cartridge, the quality and the taste of the vapor is much better.
Being the kind of person that likes to tinker and experiment, I just ordered a L-2 510 Kit and some Menthol E-juice from Strictlyejuice.com just to see how it compares.
As far as smoking at work or anywhere else, I have not had a problem at all. In fact, the curiosity factor has brought about quite a few inquiries every where I go. At work, at least 3 other workers have ordered kits for themselves or members of their families.
Thank E-Cigs
George

Welcome Aboard!

It sounds like you've gotten off to a good start already. You've made a wise choice with a 510 and should be more than satisfied experimenting with it and getting into making your own e-juices and other minor mods to start with.

The best part about someone like yourself who is banned from smoking at work is that you can stealth vape without anyone every knowing what you are doing if you have to. I pretty much vape everywhere I want to now but if I have any concerns about a confrontation or just plain BS I stealth vape and nobody has a clue and I still get my nicotine and flavor of choice.

3 analogs a day is a great deal! Before you know it you will be down to zero and can be proud of the fact that you really did quit smoking!

Hang in there.

In the land of no hills and red dirt
Here in about 4 hours, it will be one week since the wife and I started vaping after 20+ years of pack a day analogs. Haven't had a single analog in six days, she's down to one or two (mostly when she's around other smokers).

Enjoying the heck out of it, found that both of our sinuses aren't acting up like with analogs, and am starting to enjoy the whole sm-uh-vaping indoors thing. Not even close to the break even point, but am enjoying the benefits. Thanks to everyone on the forum and contributors on you tube for showing the way.

Thanks all for the support and the great welcome,

Pianoguy: Thanks for the refilling links. It will save me a lot of time (and pain) trying to perfect my refilling technique. Watching the video, I did notice that the KR808D-1 cartomizer is "almost" identical to the one on my PR-111. The only really obvious difference being that the KR has a left hand thread and my 111 has a right hand thread.

Now I just have to perfect a good menthol mixture. The CASH True Menthol is strong enough but does have too much of a tooth pastey taste for me.
