Basically thats what Im asking...I want to get an ego or Riva so I can use LR attys and had heard that using 306 attys is popular on the Riva. Would I need to buy an adapter for this to work or will they fit right outta the box? Thanks in advance

The eGo-type has a 510 connector, so no adapter is needed. I believe the Riva does too.
There is some concern about using attys with less than 2.0 ohm on these batteries though.
As long as you're willing to accept that they MAY shorten the battery's service life, no problem.
The 306 connector is 510 compatible. And, there are SR 306's available too.

They will fit no problem (thread wise) but you may not be able to use the cone (too short) comfortably.
