So... recently I purchased a Blu (yes I know Blue hate everywhere), and have been quite enjoying it, but I had decided if I'm going to put down analogs I wanted a better/different flavor and maybe a touch more vapor. Some people on here and elsewhere had recommended 306 cartomizers, so I ordered some. I also, ordered 3 different juices from backwoods brew: Maxboro,Smoke,Applewood. I've had the juices for a few days but just got the cartos today. Upon receiving them I filled them and let them sit for about an hour (one for each juice and a fourth with a mixture of all three juices because i felt like experimenting). A few minutes ago I screwed each one onto a battery and vaped with it a bit. I couldnt help but notice what I would describe as something somewhat like a chemical taste in every single one, it def was the prime component of the flavor. Now I'm wondering if it is something to do with the cartos, or if there is an ingriedient in the BWB juices I'm just not used to (as the Blue classic tobacco tastes like some combo of tobacco, coffee, and chocolate). I find teh amount of vapor produced pleasing and teh flavors seem good but there is a similar taste in all of them and I'm wondering if anybody knows exactly what it is? (the cartos came from eliquid planet if that helps any).

A lot of BWB liquids do need to steep. I ordered 6 sample flavors and the only one i was able to use out of the box was blueberry. In the past 2 weeks, I've blown through maple tobacco and casablanca and the 2 coffee flavors i got are just hitting maturity. The 555 is still sitting. It had a really perfumy taste to it that still hasn't gone away. From what I've read, however, most people find that with that flavor and it needs to steep the longest.

Most juice sellers keep premade liquids in stock, so they've been sitting awhile already before you order. BWB liquids are fresh made to order so the flavors don't get much time to mature before they arrive. I'd revisit them in a week or so and see if you notice a difference.

In regards to the atomizers... I just picked up a couple LR 306s (haven't tried the standard resistance) and they take quite a bit of priming as they don't come with primer (at least not the Cisco ones)

The cartomizers might take some breaking in. If you have any other atomizer or carto you can try, I'd test the liquids out on that to rule out a problem with the cartos. If you have the same problem on another device, it's the liquid and probably needs to steep longer.

I am using an eliquidplanet 306 carto now and I do have to break them in a bit to get good vapor. I do not get any nasty taste with them though. I have been using 306 cartos for many months now and have not had any bad tasting or non working ones. I have had a few that just dont produce as much vapor as other ones but after using them for a fill they get better.

I apparently overfilled one of the carts a tiny bit... got a little juice on my tongue... and it has the taste ive been getting in the vapor so yep, it's the juice! The taste isn't that bad though so i can still keep vaping them knowing that they'll get better with time. I just wanted to make sure I wasnt vaping some bizarre unknown chemical.

Exactly what kind of cartomizers. I have never even seen 306 cartos. Are they Joyetech reservoir kind? Reservoir cartos can sometimes have primer and if so, primer tastes awful, tastes like sewing machine oil smells.

If they are stuffing-type cartos I would not expect them to have any primer. If you don't fill them well the first time and let them sit on different sides to make sure all of the stuffing is damp, you can singe the stuffing and taste burnt and that taste can stick around - you may have to toss a carto if you singe it. I've used Boge and SLB soft-cap stuffing-type cartos and they taste fine.

They're stuffing type cartos and I made sure that they got nice and moist all around. I'm guessing it's just something about the juice that gives them that flavor hopefully after it sits for another week or two it'll taste more like the flavors they are and less like perfume/chemicals. I should be ok I still have 4 5 packs of the Blu classic tobacco i ordered when i ordered my blu.

I vape BWB to and never had to steep yet. They do get even better with age but I have never gotten a flowery smell off them like I have with a couple of other vendors.

It happens with other vendors too - it depends on how fresh the batch is. When juices need steeping you can often speed it up just by taking off the cap and popping the popper top out (press sideways on it) and let it sit open for a few hours.
