Hello everyone. I descided to ditch cigarettes are start vaping. I am so glad I did. I went to my local shop and got some advice on some starter pieces. I went with an EVOD with an 1100 battery and some ok juice. I soon found myself wanting to know more. Like why did it taste burnt so fast? (inproper draw) After time I found leaky gurgling flooded tank. So I went and bought two Kanger protank minis and some new great flavors to go with them. Kiwi berry and Purple nurple(grape soda). Still problems. Til I came here and a few other forums. Learned to draw better puffs and vape was much better and tasty. Then tonight I rebuilt an old kanger 1.8 ohm coil I thought had burned up while learning with cotton wicks. Oh boy my vape experience has changed. My buddy came over for a visit with his fancy Rebel lightsaber looking vape and too was very impressed with what I had done. My clouds are nice and fat and taste wonderful like the juice should outta the bottle. I just wanted to say hi and thank everyone so much for some posts here about so many subjects that helped my vape become pure heaven. Like how to rebuild and rewick supposedly disposable coils and proper vaping technique. Thanks so much. My little evod is now ready to vape large and tasty with the big boys. May the vape be with you always.

Thanx everyone. I forgot to mention how much I like vapin at work. See... With my cigs I had to wait til my break. Then go outside and freeze my ars off. Now... I just keep my evod and case in the stockroom of my job. I go there often in a shift since I sell shoes. I can walk by and pick it up on the way and vape while I am looking for the sizes I need then put it back down on the way back to the sales floor. No one smells smoke on me and so far fellow employees really enjoy my fruity flavors of vapor floating momentarily in the back. I am the only vaper at my job but so far accepted and enjoyed far better than when I smoked regular cigs. Heck women smile and talk to me way more too without the cig stink. Hehe.

The burnt taste is probably associated with the atomizer you're currently using. The EVODs are known to do this after a while. I'd try something a bit newer maybe with some cotton wick this time instead of silica. The nautilus or Kanger Sub tanks come with replaceable coils and give great tasting juice for the money, although just be careful and don't buy the sub ohm coils, the battery you're using isn't the best for them. Luckily they come with standard coils as well so you should be good to at least try them before rushing out to buy another battery.

By the way... :toast: Congratulations on your first month!

I have learned that the burnt taste was from improper vaping. Nothing to do with coils. I did however learn better technique and never a burnt tast since. Also I now have taken the burnt tasting coils (kangertech 1.8ohm) and rewicked with cotton and cleaned. They work far better than new. And with new skills and practice I am getting nice big thick very tasty clouds. But thanx for the advice JMarca.

Shalom Moshe!

It's an awesome feeling when you start to understand how things work and what you can do to make them better, eh?

If you want to venture further, you can actually rebuild those same coil heads. Get yourself an ohmmeter, and if you're not familiar with Ohm's Law, get yourself acquainted. I have a blog link (click on the number next to "Blogs" under my avitar) that shows you how to disassemble and rebuild those heads. I've been at it for about 9 months, and it's GREAT. I spent about $6 on a 100' spool of kanthal and $1 on a bag of cotton. I should never have to buy another coil!

Glad you're starting to find your "vaping nirvana!"
