I've never had luck with clearomizer anythings, But one thing I can tell you is sometimes the glue they use to attach the tubing to the caps is done rather sloppy. Try cleaning it thoroughly with hot water. I would avoid boiling it due to the nature of the tubes unless its glass (do they make a clearomizer with glass? gave up on them a long time ago)

Also, if the plastic tube burns AT ALL your going to have a plastic taste in there at times, and there's very little you can do about it. I've seen some shipped this way as well.

Yeah I used to have the glass clearomizers (I believe they were the ego-vision) but they ended up breaking under constant use (the glass cracked... not sure how lol). So when I saw these, I figured I'd give them a try and they hit a ton better. Such great vapor production and throat hit, almost too strong a throat hit to the point where I'm going to drop the nicotine lvl if I stick with these. But that burnt taste is so strange. It was present almost every hit at first then just went away and now its back! I'm not quite sure what is causing it at all.

If anyone is familiar with these, is it possible to take that top part that covers the coils off? Or will I end up ruining the whole thing like that. I'll definitely try just rinsing them with hot water for now and see how it goes.

Hi

Are you keeping the wicks wet? Clearos can be finicky little beasts and sometimes don't wick very well. You have to tip or twirl them often. Another thing is sometimes they don't last very long. If one of mine starts tasting burnt, I clean it out and try another flavor. If that doesn't work, it's toast. ;)

It seems one of them I wicks better than the other I guess because after you said that, I tried tipping it upwards to keep the juice near the wicks and it certainly tastes better. I heard theres a way I can trim the cover off the wicks to make that easier and more consistent but that was for the stardust vision clearomizers which look different from these. Think I can remove the covers to the coils and use my straight razors to try to trim it off? I know with the stardusts I was able to remove that silicone cap but, this one seems a little more glued in, but sure though.

Mine vary from unit to unit. If you're going to go to all that trouble, you might want to get a rebuildable one. GotVapes VISION Replaceable Stardust 1.6ml w/ 2.4ohm Long Wick [gv-RebuildableSTARDUST-1.6ml-2.4] - $6.95 : GotVapes.com, E-cigarette Supplies - Atomizers Cartomizers Mods Juice and more or a ubiquitous vivi nova.

Once these burn out, I think I'll certainly switch to those ocelot. I was thinking about it at first but I figured I'd try these 312's out first.

@abra: Hmmmm, I think I had the same issues with the ego visions. They began to leak from the bottom and I couldn't figure it out. And there was no way for me to get to that part so I thats how I ended up with these 312 clearomizers.

I sometimes have the whole silver top part come off, especially with strong juices or if a twist the mouth piece on too hard. I'm looking at one now. I see the ring (although mine is melted). I have one that I just put the top an and vape it anyway, but the risk of a leak it still there. You probably need a new one.

I looked at the 312 on the Backwoods site. It looks to me like a regular CE(pick a number...I think it's up to 5 now), but I could be wrong. You can often get the CE4s on sale for under $5. I get mine from juice vendors - I always buy a couple when I order juice.

Gosh I'm babbling tonight. I have lots of the clearos and I have found a way to keep them from leaking. 1) Don't fill them up all the way; 2) After you fill it, roll up a little piece of paper towel and slid it up the bottom hole. Do that a couple of times, until the paper comes out dry. If, at some point, you tip or twirl it too aggressively, you have to repeat step 2.

Babbling?! I say this is wisdom from the prophet! lol Keep on preaching!

Okay, one more thing. :p I actually use clearos more often than my mini novas, because they hold less juice. If I'm trying something new, I can put a small amount in a cleao, before committing a whole tank to it. I can even vape cinnamon in a clearo, keeping in mind that it will only be good for a few refills.

They are not the CE's btw, I think you looked at the CE 4's they sell also. hehehe

I thought they looked similar, what's the difference? I see where it says "...sealed at the bottom by a O-ring to stop the leaking!" Which you have disproved. And despite what it's says about not cracking under "normal" use, I'll bet my abnormal favorite vape would kill it.
