3xAA madvapes box issues

Hey all, just wondering if anybody might have had the same issue with these boxes that i am. ive made mods before and for some reason now when i do them they dont seem to close all the way and when i go to stand them up, they lean. its like there is something in the way but i can see all the way through there isnt anything blocking it. just wondering if it might have something to do with the drilling or something but either way any help is appreciated

Have you put a straight edge on the bottom to see if it's out of true? As far as the lids go, if they close properly before you mod, then it's something you are doing. Check to see if anything is in the way; most of the time that's it

I built two recently and mine do the same exact thing. Its the mold they are using. Its not an engineered product. Keep in mind these boxes are made to put 3 batteries in, and shove into a toy as a power supply. Its not meant to be a esthetic device.

For me this is not a problem. They still stand upright, and function incredibly well for the money.

My 3xaa 5v boxmods have the same problem, leaning forward due to the bottom not being truly level/flat. Not a big deal to me.

Quick question for the OP, are they the black ones? I made one mod with a black 3xAA box and it leaned. Switched to the white ones and it stood straight up. Did I mention the white ones drill out like going through butter with a hot knife?
