Maybe a motorcycle battery? :)
This theme actually begs the question why nobody has made (batteryless) pass-through that uses 12V power as its input. And no, I don't propose sending full 12V (which is typically more like 14 when your engine is running) to your atty. I mean put a simple "buck" regulator in there so you can set whatever voltage you want, from say 3.0 to 8.0. Now how many watts do you wanna vape at? Do the math. A 5 amps at 12 volts would be good for 60 watts, call it 50 after with a safety factory and a bit of loss in the regulator.

USB pass-throughs exist, but they're a joke. Without a battery to buffer the power, a typical USB port (5V at 500 mA) is only good for 2.5 watts.

There would also be a certain amount of sweet irony in running one's vape directly off a car's lighter socket no?

The way I had it explained was that historically passthroughs started with a battery. It wasn't until recently that they stopped coming with a battery. I was looking into long term power outage / camping type scenarios where recharging wasn't really an option. I quickly learned that power banks such as https://www.fasttech.com/products/1379809 may not be sufficient. I think that one powers out 2 amps with a single usb plugged in. Or that even using your computer with a non-battery usb passthrough you risk the possibility of shorting something out and you shouldn't be treating your latptop as a a charging device ;)

Anyway the passthroughs with the battery such as https://www.fasttech.com/products/1422502 are fine because the draw is going off of the battery not your power bank or laptop...i.e the power bank / laptop charges the battery and when you fire it off you are going against the battery not the power bank or computer it's hooked into. FYI Don't recommend that last link it just happened to be something I bought and still use but think you can find something better than it for a passthrough. Hopefully someone else has better battery passthrough link.

Um, ya, but if you short that puppy before the regulator, 10V and 500A is 5,000 watts. In your hand. Talk about 'sploy, 'splody

K whoa I just had an iclear 16 with some of my favorite juice completely change flavor on me not burnt just different so I put on a newish iclear 16 with the same juice and it tasted normal. I switched out a Few more iclears then I went back to the one I just filled and it didn't work. I checked the ohm and this time it read 5.5!! ...? Every other iclear is now reading 2.0-2.4 but this one is still saying 5.5. Is my Mvp shot or am I just havingt bad luck with these iclear heads? They have always worked fear for me. The juice is really thick but that shouldn't effect the ohms should it? I have been vaping this juice for 2 months and I haven't had any issues until today

It is possible that one of the coils just popped on you and your iClear is now forced to operate as a single coil device... It happens. Just throw it away.
