4 months & $1400 later...

I started out with the Apollo Standard Kit this past April. After doing a whole lot of research, I purchased a Kgo, EgoC, 510, 808 and Apollo V-Tube... but I still love the standard and extreme kits from Apollo the best. 4 months and $1400 later, I find myself back where I began, today I made another order with Apollo (standard & extreme carts & tobacco juice)... too funny. Also... I have tried over 60 e-cig juices (Yes... I have let the juices steep) but I still prefer the Standard tobacco pre-filled Apollo carts. I swear I'm not lazy! I think it's just preference. I love opening up those prefills and taking the little sticker off, oh yeah baby. Some people never "graduate" from these standard devices, I guess I'm one of them.

I am curious to know if anyone has had this same experience? Am I missing something?

I actually thought I was the same way ( I started with V2 cigs ) ....I'm now 3? Months ( I'm not really one to keep track of the day I officially quit analogs ) and I am starting to like a lot of flavors that I didn't 2 months ago.....took me 2 months to get "off" v2's platinum red juice, maybe it'll just take you a little longer?

What you like is what you like. No one else can tell you what works best for you. Congrats on finding what makes you happy!

I agree with Lava_Man that your tastes may well change. Keep some of those juices to re-try down the road a ways just in case. On the other hand, if you have a juice you like and you continue to like it, it makes your life simpler.

The tobacco flavor Apollo puts in their disposables is quite nice. Don't feel bad, I'm around 2 grand down after 7 months, I think. I have somewhere around 100 flavors of my own, 2 giant bins of atomizers and cartos, and 12 different ecigs, , including the one I made a while ago. It was killed by my cat, so that might not count.

I don't use prefilled cartos anymore but I have been vaping over a year and still have some cig-style ecigs that I use. I like that they are just nice and easy sometimes. Plus I feel more comfortable using them while driving, or going to the beach, where I don't want to take an expensive mod, and other situations too.

Recommend you stop throwing money at your problem and do more research. To date I have been quit of analogs for 5+ months and I have spent a mere $200+ because I DIY my own juice.

Recommend you stop judging. Some, myself included are less concerned with the money than quitting cigs. I DIY also now, and I have spent enough to cringe until I take a deep breath to calm myself. That deep breath is so easy these days.

Maybe I would have been fine sticking with my kgo, but maybe not. I'll never know because I have a number of toys and no regrets.

Everyone is different. Let people do what it takes for them, and do what it takes for you. Along the way we can share and compare notes.

Doesn't seem ghetto to me, Wishdog. If it's what works for you, that is what counts above all else. I don't care what anyone's setup looks like as long as they are happy and not smoking.

I'm still using my Volt 808's, and I've no intention of going beyond. I have my 65mm and 78mm small batteries, and my X2 mid size batteries, and all the bling and accessories I could ever want, and half a dozen liquids that are my mainstays. I have fun with them in all colors of the rainbow, plus good CE3s, clearomizers and cartomizers. I don't need big tanks, now that I've found how simple the CE3's and clearomizers can really be. Plus, there is a syringe-less CE on the way. I'm happy where I'm at.

I'm not sure how that would work. I don't mind breakin' out the lab every night and loading up the CE3s I carry. And I've gotten quite good at removing liquid from them and replacing it with another. It's all about the air, man. :D

I am still on my starter set-up(eGo batts + stardust) with no plans to change it.
You got lucky and landed on probably the least fiddly and best vapor producing setups to start with. Good for you!

On the OP: $1400 in 4 months is a lil over the top, given the story you shared. I could see it if you ran right out and bought a bunch of fancy battery and tank mods. You wouldn't be the first person to ever do that. From what I see though, it looks like more a bunch of different starter kits combined with you favoring pre-filled carts. As if you're trying to buy your way to the elusive "perfect vape" or "cigarette equivalent." If you have the money, go for it. At a minimum you at least have a stack of backups to your backups.

A more common scenario is probably around $300 in the same time period, assuming two or three different hardware setups and a fair amount of pre-mix juice orders to try out while you're learning a new habit. By that time, most people find a setup and flavors they like and the monthly outlay drops to maintenance. For me that's about a $50-70 order every six weeks or so.

Nothing wrong with using a starter setup. If it gets the job done, that's what you're after. At the end, all this stuff does the same thing with different form factors, and compromises with battery life and levels of fiddleyness.
