i posted to both ads..was i inappropriate in any way?

According to forum rules, yep. Not supposed to derail classified threads to bash the OP on their price.

We're in an open market, aka, supply and demand dictates price. If someone will pay it, who are we to derail their threads?

On a side note, one of the slims was an all brass which are very tough to find (looking for one myself, just not for $350-400).

Nope. You're good dude.

I think it is important to keep in mind that although our GG Family seems to have a universal set of ideals, it doesn't mean that the rest of the world shares them. I would never, and have never sold a GG product for a cent more than I paid for it. Both times I have sold a GG product I actually cut the price to meet the market price at the time.

I applaud everyone willing to sell and trade GG products fairly, but I anticipate the doubling of prices will be around, seeing as the supply of GG products is always well below the demand. This is the foundation of a global economy, and I don't think we have the right to impose ideals upon others (I do see the irony in posting MY opinions persuasively :D).

I know Imeo works as hard as he physically and mentally can to ensure we're all happy with our products, and that we all get a fair chance to grab them while they're hot, but I know that the buzz (abstract term, not the PV) is infectious and people will pay double or more when the supply is cut short. Does the UFS thread smell like BS? Sure it does. But I know if there was lemonade on my street corner selling for $0.25 and in the city people were willing to pay $0.50 - $1.00, I'd be filling Jerry Cans with the stuff and make my rounds. For some reason though, I feel that within our little family, we have an image to maintain, and acting by a set of unspoken conventions and ideals is just one of the ways Imeo's amazing products reflect in his amazing (true) customers. For anything else though, especially things mass produced, I would jump at the chance to double my money with little or no risk.

It smells fishy, but I won't be surprised if someone buys it for close to his asking price. Just my $0.02, I don't want to start a war or anything :D.

FYI: I think The Gentlemen's Reserve has a bunch of UFSs left, I don't even think he has formally put them on his site yet... I just pre-ordered mine via email last week. If anyone is legitimately missing out I would have no problem buying one and sending it to them at cost, provided Imeo and the other vendors have no issue with this. Everyone should have a chance to get these products at their intended price. The idea of intended price is something else that I think factors in, but my little rant is already too verbose, so I digress.

Oops! I guess I shouldn't have jumped the gun. I was merely remarking that your tone did not seem inappropriate. I guess the forum rules are another matter. :D

I happen to agree with your long post for the most part. I don't think that any UFS will be selling for double or more price within the next couple weeks though. Especially since the Aus supplier still has them at cost +30 bucks shipping.

Your instinct was correct and you answered the question. Thanks for the rant, btw. :vapor:

We all know where to read the policies and rules. It is another matter indeed.

I mixed you and krinkle up, I think it's pretty obvious you can make an offer in a thread in the classifieds:)

Only thing that's wrong is:

4. Negative posts about the price or quality etc of items being sold by other members will not be tolerated. If you feel the price is more than you are willing to pay, move on without commenting.

I didn't bash anyone I stated a fact followed by a question asking to clarify the condition and qty of items being sold if it just so happens to make the OP look bad in any way that's on him I didn't set his price he did.... and in fact the last UFS I saw sell for that kind of money was gold plated...

The reason I started this thread here and that I didn't post in the classies is because of the rules. I think that is outrageous. It is almost dishonest... like a lack of values. Just my two cents. It was one thing to sell above the price you bought it for, but a total different situation when you charge around 400% retail price.

I'm just glad the guy who sold me mine has values and respects the others in this community.
