The reason I started this thread here and that I didn't post in the classies is because of the rules. I think that is outrageous. It is almost dishonest... like a lack of values. Just my two cents. It was one thing to sell above the price you bought it for, but a total different situation when you charge around 400% retail price.

I'm just glad the guy who sold me mine has values and respects the others in this community.

I feel its a responsibility of the GG family to outcast these profiteers from any and all things GG... The whole supply and demand argument is just a way for them to justify making outrageous profits on hard to get GG products it is wrong and with this logic I will sell my new UFS for 10,000 euros I could buy a new car or make a down payment on a house any takers....

Nope. You're good dude.

I think it is important to keep in mind that although our GG Family seems to have a universal set of ideals, it doesn't mean that the rest of the world shares them. I would never, and have never sold a GG product for a cent more than I paid for it. Both times I have sold a GG product I actually cut the price to meet the market price at the time.

I applaud everyone willing to sell and trade GG products fairly, but I anticipate the doubling of prices will be around, seeing as the supply of GG products is always well below the demand. This is the foundation of a global economy, and I don't think we have the right to impose ideals upon others (I do see the irony in posting MY opinions persuasively :D).

I know Imeo works as hard as he physically and mentally can to ensure we're all happy with our products, and that we all get a fair chance to grab them while they're hot, but I know that the buzz (abstract term, not the PV) is infectious and people will pay double or more when the supply is cut short. Does the UFS thread smell like BS? Sure it does. But I know if there was lemonade on my street corner selling for $0.25 and in the city people were willing to pay $0.50 - $1.00, I'd be filling Jerry Cans with the stuff and make my rounds. For some reason though, I feel that within our little family, we have an image to maintain, and acting by a set of unspoken conventions and ideals is just one of the ways Imeo's amazing products reflect in his amazing (true) customers. For anything else though, especially things mass produced, I would jump at the chance to double my money with little or no risk.

It smells fishy, but I won't be surprised if someone buys it for close to his asking price. Just my $0.02, I don't want to start a war or anything :D.

FYI: I think The Gentlemen's Reserve has a bunch of UFSs left, I don't even think he has formally put them on his site yet... I just pre-ordered mine via email last week. If anyone is legitimately missing out I would have no problem buying one and sending it to them at cost, provided Imeo and the other vendors have no issue with this. Everyone should have a chance to get these products at their intended price. The idea of intended price is something else that I think factors in, but my little rant is already too verbose, so I digress.

I agree with you here Seaweed. Truth be told, those of us who are GG family can really only expect a fair deal from other GG family members. You're right in that we cannot expect those not in the family to deal with each other as we do. There is a camaraderie amongst us that goes far beyond the "almighty dollar".

How many times, and correct me if I'm wrong, have we seen a family member post that they were looking for this or that out of stock item and another family member posted that they would hook them up? Too many times to count.

How many times has someone new to the family come into the GG forum, introduce themselves, telling us of their story about obtaining a GG product and how excited they were. Many of us were excited for and with that person and we told them as much and welcomed them with open arms. Did not that person exclaim that they felt they were now a part of something that really mattered? And then, that same person asks about getting something not currently available and that new family member is treated as well as the family member with 1500+ GG posts? Too many to count is also the correct answer my friends.

Here in the family it's about fellowship. Outside our walls though, the greed of this world runs rampant. I am reminded, as a Christian man, that I am called to be "in this world" and not "of this world". I can think of no better example of when this applies as this post exemplifies. When I die and stand before my Creator, as I believe we all will, I will be naked and my hands will be empty. Same way I came into this world. What will me doubling my cost on ANYTHING matter then?

Whew.....it's a good thing I'm not opinionated or I would have posted what I really thought on this matter. :)

What happened to the days you were happy to just break even with your purchase. Or just the joy of hooking up someone that really wanted one. I think anyone who just buys a product and tries to sell it for double the price what ever the situation is will look like a douche. I understand before when so little UFS were made and no one wanted to sell. But come on didn't we just get them. On a side note thank you Imeo for making so many UFS to fill the demand of so many of us who wanted one. You listened to your customers and came through. For that I thank you.

Well as of this moment I will not buy nor sell anything on the classifieds of ECF my questions about the mans UFS for sale were deleted and to me this shows that the ECF supports profiteering and I will have no part of it... and with all the shady deals that have been made recently taking advantage of hard working honest people is not OK with me...

I'm just going to jump in here, remember you cannot discuss the price (bash the price) or anything of that sort in a classifieds thread (here is perfectly fine, unless Imeo has a problem with it). I had to clear out a few posts for that, so keep it in mind.

@Dream I saw nothing wrong with your posts, since the OP in that thread did say OBO and you made an offer (as long as it was an honest offer and you would follow through if accepted by the OP).

On a personal note, wow that is a high price... I paid just over original price for mine (which I don't use, but it's there).

Well said my friend. With dignity and finesse. My favourite part of being a GG family member is the collective funds we have raised. I know I've contributed to two people getting to keep their GG item they were otherwise forced to sell and I love Imeo's hunger fund as well.

I would be totally welcome to starting a Research and Development Fund for GGs. I'm sure it would consist of us chipping in to get Imeo a sexy masseuse and a really comfy bed for, "thinking".

You did absolutely nothing wrong, the protestations about charging more than you bought it for are complete and utter bs IMO. What the heck is wrong with all of you, would you expect to pay the cover price for a first edition? List price on a 66 stingray? Imeo crafts works of art that cannot be replicated and he has said they will not be - -they will be rare and therefore increase in value, that is just the way it is. Am I to be cast out of the family since I have sold for more than I paid on a few of my GGTSs and my GGTB? Para and I talked about this once many months ago and its what people will pay, not what seems fair to the majority, I don't know about you but I cannot afford to be a charity, I can't remember the last time I purchased a new battery......

Rip, I agree with you wholeheartedly on this. Especially the older and more rare ones.

However, I do have a problem with the individual who is trying to get 2x retail for a brand new UFS MK2 within days of the sale. Just think, if someone had the cash, they could buy up all of the Multi-iAttys and the GGVV's when they come out then turn around and try to sell them at 2x retail. Now, they will have cornered the US market and most of us would be left out in the cold on them.
