42 watt DNA 30?

Has anyone tried the 42 watt hack with the dna 30 or was it some kind of hoax?
I'm surprised I've not seen more about it;

hum...... interesting....... no way to do that many manual button pushes (over 50 pushes per second) in 2 seconds and using a robot at the factory to program chips with button pushes is a stretch of the imagination....thinkin' it's a hoax....
