Hi,

I've been using my Vapor King now for 14 weeks of smoke free heaven. I really love it!! The only thing I had a problem with at the beginning was that I had 4 batteries, a passthrough, and a usb car charger fail. But, I didn't mind much because of the Smilin warranty, and up until now it has lived up to its claims. Two more batteries are no longer holding a charge very well. So, I put a note to this effect in comments of my last order. (I've placed two big orders in the last 4 days) When I received my order there was a note saying

"Dear John: Our warranty for batts is 45 days, you ordered this batts 1/28/10. however i'm sending you one complimentary batt.
Best regards"

I, and I don't think anyone else, was aware of a 45-day battery warranty on batteries.
If this is your new policy then could you please at least update your "smilin warranty thread"?

I will reiterate that until now, Vapor4life has been one of the best companies to deal with that I've ever encountered. I have turned several friends of mine on to your products, and they have all been happy!!
Thank you from a dedicated, and until now silent customer.

-John

If you've been using batteries for 14 weeks, you got plenty of use. They are intended to give you around 200+/- charges. The fact that they gave you a complimentary battery is awesome, as you got the life expectancy out of your batteries. I would be embarrassed to ask for a refund on a battery that was more than 45 days old. Yours seem to be about 100 days old. It's time to buy new ones, plain and simple. Maybe you don't understand the nature of the rechargeable batteries. As far as I can see, you do not have a legitimate complaint. I was under the impression that the battery warranty was for 30 days and I thought that was very good.

From the V4L website: We have a 45 day Guarantee on all Starter Kits, batteries, and chargers. If you receive a defective unit and would like a replacement, please contact us immediately and we will send you out a replacement unit. You would only have to pay postage to send the defective components back to us. If you wish for a refund send the unwanted products back to us and we will issue a refund upon receipt. Unfortunately Nobacco Juice and Cartridges are non-refundable.

Agreed, the batteries should give me around 200 charges. Considering I have 4 batteries and use less than one charge a day, the 2 defective ones had around 25-30 charges on them!!! Think about it... There is no modern battery I know of that has a life expectancy that short. Either I got defective ones, or the lithium that is used in these batteries is extremely impure.

As stated above I didn't get even close to the life expectancy.

That's interesting to know that your embarrassment threshold is so low. I am an electrical engineer working in mobile system-on-chip architecture. In other words, I know everything there is to know about batteries, rechargeable or otherwise.

As far as I can see, you do not have a legitimate complaint. I was under the impression that the battery warranty was for 30 days and I thought that was very good.

It might be good for the "e-cigarette" industry. My only complaint, that you would know if you read the original post, was that they should edit the Smilin Warranty on this forum. Because, that's the only one I read and my friends who are now customers read.

Other than them editing that post, I'm after nothing. I don't want another battery. If that's their policy, then I want no special treatment.

I have turned 17 people on to Vapor4life, and I don't want them to be confused about the warranty policy like I was.

And jdvorr, please think a little bit before imparting your righteous tone.

Thank you Vapor4life for everything!!! I have no other complaints at all. You guys have a great company!!

I do agree the thread should be updated to prevent confusion. But in all fairness, the warranty info is stated on the v4l website.

V4L 2-piece electronic cigarette FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions)

5) Does Vapor4Life have a Guarantee or Return Policy?

You may have taken my tone as righteous, I didn't intend it that way. I was reiterating some of the battery expectations and warranty info. according to the limited info. in your post & your apparent dissatisfaction.

It didn't seem that a loyal customer who is happy with V4L until this point, should be upset that they didn't get batteries replaced when they were twice the age of the warranty. Maybe if you had stated that they only had x number of uses, my response would have been different. It sounded very much like you were just disappointed that they hadn't lasted longer than they should have. I know you say the only thing you want is for the warranty thread to be updated., but, your post makes it sound like you're ...... because you didn't get your batteries replaced. You may not have intended this, but it's what I got from it and I'm not the only one.

V4L has no way of knowing what your batteries have been through and have had people trying to scam free stuff from them. I'm not saying you were doing that. I believe you when you describe your battery usage. You seem credible in that regard.

If you reread your post from the perspective of someone other than yourself, you might see how it could be interpreted differently than you intended.

I may have sounded righteous to you. I'm sorry about that. My response was in that tone because you sounded unreasonable to me. With hindsight and some explanation, I can see what you intended. I think if you knew me, you would know that I am never righteous & If I knew you I'd probably find that you're not unreasonable. language is a tricky thing and needs to be used thoughtfully.

That said, have a great day! :)

Thanks guys.

I just want to say that I'm now aware of their policy posted on their webpage. I never bothered to look for warranty info on their website because it's so prominently "stickyed" here.
That's my only problem. I just wish that they would state that clearly on the warranty sticky.
I'm fine with what I have, but a battery should last more than 30 charge cycles, regardless of the number of days of ownership (Though I fully acknowledge that they can't determine the number of charge cycles used)(and yes I did charge them overnight initially). Even though I'm out of warranty on the batteries, it's still a good thing to let them know that my batteries failed, so that they can look into, and possibly correct any potential issues.

For all the v4l "religious zealots"...J/K I agree 100% that vapor4life is THE best company in the industry, by far. However, that doesn't mean they are perfect.

I would finally just like to add that Vapor4life is not in even remote danger of losing me as a customer!! They are simply the best!!
