"For clarity, you retain all of your ownership rights in your User Submissions."

If you did not copyright it then you have no ownership rights to retain.

copyrights do not just happen, they MUST be filed for. If no copyright office issues a copyright then you have no copyright.

Your digging your ditch deeper and deeper everytime you open your mouth. I guess the user name you picked best suits your I.Q.

#1. Re-read the first comment "For clarity". That does mean he owns the copyright to what he submits.
#2. Bull####!
#3. I am a photographer. If I take a photo and post it on my or any other web site, I own the copyright to that photo without paying for a copyright. So I do think you should research a little more before you insert foot.

I can legally sue someone for using a photo of mine, copyright or no copyright. But then, it's thumbnails I use on my sight so a stolen photo can not be used very easily. Hey, perhaps you could google copyrights. Then after you insert foot, you have room to move it around too.

PS: And that pertains to ANY country I am in or use my photos in.

ignorance truly is bliss.

Why even bother having laws?

you said that unless i apply for a copyright then i dont own my videos.

youtube states that i have FULL ownership.......id imagine they know what they are talking about.

kickitstick has removed my copied videos from his site therefore i have removed my opening post.

rita has contacted me to say that kickitstick asked her for permission and that she granted it.........however, she did say that she granted the use of the video via the youtube embed code/link.

this is a repost of my response to waldo about the copyright and his view of it he requested exact title 17 links but i went to the source the copyright office

source please otherwise fishing attempt
from http://www.copyright.gov/circs/circ1.pdf which came from the aformentiond copyright office
The way in which copyright protection is secured is frequently
misunderstood. No publication or registration or other action
in the Copyright Office is required to secure copyright. (See
following note.) There are, however, certain definite advantages
to registration. See “Copyright Registration” on page
from same pdf
Even though registration is not a requirement for
protection

all that means you dont need to register for copyright protection with a few that require it which is mostly motion picture movies in the recording process. also you would need to filie for a infringment suit... but you dont have to till then. you are considered to have a copyright on your own original works weather it is stated or not but will need to fill for some benefits listed at the site. dw i think you just like to cause proplems and from this post on i will just /ignore your flaming

Thank you for clarification about Rita's video ~ that makes for one less nail.......:)

certainly is. the guy has stolen my work and then hosted it on his own site whilst taking the credit.

he then further takes the piss by saying that he adds watermarks to his photos so no one will steal them!

youtube supply a code that ANYONE can use to post onto their website. it allows the site to play the video whilst also giving the creator full credit whilst retaining the copyrite for their work plus still counts towards the creators viewing totals.

he has used software to steal my videos and then hosted them himself using his own movie player. this is illegal and copyrite theft.

he has not even had the decency to give credit.

how would you feel if he went to your website and stole all your work to claim it as his own?

I did not know that you couldnt take videos from youtube. It is a public site and I didnt think it was a big deal. I apologized and took the video off as soon as I received a message. Also I did not take credit for anything just posted the videos on my site. I did not edit any of the videos all. Once again I want to say sorry to anyone that feels I did wrong. I am an honest person, I should have asked for permision and for that i am sorry. It wont happen again.

thanks
rob

for one when I asked rita she said nothing about using the code. I even told her I was going to edit the video and she said nothing.

Dumwaldo my dear... I have to echo the others in saying you're incorrect about having to actually file the paperwork in order to own a copyright. That is, if copyright law for video is the same as it is for music; I'm not sure. In music, the creator of the work owns the copyright whether they file for it or not. You don't have to file, but it does behoove you to do so, in case a paper trail is needed later on to prove ownership in court. But anything with a date on it can prove ownership -- lots of people use the ol' trick of mailing themselves a copy of their CD then saving the unopened, postmarked package in case someone steals a song and calls it their own. Not a very ironclad way to prove ownership, but it is perfectly legal and acceptable in court.

(I'm a musician & recording artist, not a lawyer, but I've been forced to find these things out as part of my uh... "job".)

It seems that everything has worked out favorably. :thumb:

It seems a mistake was made and owned up to and that says a lot! Thanks Rob. :)

Agreed...nice to see this resolved in a decent way by both parties.

...and I have to say, I'm not sure why Kendra thinks Rob's prices are not reasonable. As far as I can see, Rob has some of the,if not the, lowest prices out there amongst all North American suppliers.

Yea I thought so too. Also I know I only have 4ml bottles of liquid now but I placed a order that should be here in about a week or so of 10ml. When I first get them im going to run a sale at 4.99 for about a week and 5.99 normal price. Cheapest I have seen in the US for 10ml. Also I have some manual 801 and 901 batteries on the way.
