Erm. My fluxos are gunked up with something right outta the box.
2.6-2.8 ohm, regs.
Anyone else getting this? I did the usual pre usage dry burn (naked fluxo of course) and for the hell of it tried some straight without dry burning, no rings on. Bad bad taste n they turning black faaaast. Also the wick and coil don't dry burn clean. I know I can get my wicks pure white almost and my coils shiny hint silver, and from this pack I received Friday, no go. Absolutely not new to fluxos but I'm needing that nic fix.

Anyway, what I wanted to ask was if anyone's getting "solder gunk" or something like it, and if it isnt just me that got an unvapeable 5pack of fluxos.

Right now I'm screwed. :)

juice I'm using is mountain rift btw.

The new ones have been perfect for me...could have just been a bad batch.

That's very true. And it sucks, cos out of 5 all were bad. I could care less if I had at least one good one. Right now though I'm trying to revive them. We'll see how that ends up. Right now the only clearo I have working is (luckily found) an unopened CE2 Rev 5 from Volcano. If I can't revive the others, I'm gonna have to order more, but I'm quite hesitant to given the circumstance. =/

God I hope those I just received aren't like that. All I use um for is for "Tank" works. I have 20 or so in line ahead of this batch. Guess I'll find out in a few months. I always have six months everything on hand. Hope I didn't buy a pig in a poke. If they find they've received a bad batch, hope the issue a recall. JMHO

Cheers,

Following up on my earlier post - I tried 2 from a different vendor and they are showing the same symptoms. Now that I'm paying attention I can see some type of liquid pooling on top of the two fill rings, but under the stock mouth piece.

After disassembling and cleaning I can still taste it. What gives? Are they pre-soaking these again? Is it some type of lube so they're easier to assemble? Whatever it is it tastes god awful.

Here's and idea GV - can you start buying just the individual pieces, or in kits? I'm taking everyone one of these apart and cleaning them before first use anyways so why not just sell them like that - w/o the tube, mouth pieces, and ceramic gasket assembled on the main air tube/ atty.

That's freakin genius!!! I would totally rather just buy new guts than buy new fluxos!!! :w00t:

You would think that would be a win for everybody. MC could save money on assembly and packaging, and GV could sell the parts individually...

I'll take a box of donuts, a box of purple tubes, and a box of innards please! Hold the primer, glue, packaging, and BS... Thank you!

You know, ultimately we're working towards a new class of cartomizer... Eventually, we'll just buy something with a vision seal/mouthpiece, a fluxo tube, a cup that isn't freakin square, and the center post assembly would be detachable from the coil/wick assembly... When the coil/wick gets used up, just pop it out and replace it. I don't need to replace my center post, or my tube very often, just my coil/wick. A rebuildable carto? That's the future man, that's the future...

(I freakin hate the built-in editor on this forum... If you can say it on cable, you should be able to type it to a bunch of people that are over 18... I mean, people have naked girls in their avatars, and I can't write d-i-c-k, or b-u-l-l-s-h-i-t, or a-s-s-h-o-l-e... Oh wait I just did. PM me if you're offended.)

Word. I've never bought a juice feeder that didn't need to be modded in some way...

Let's start a petition to get our Fluxos in parts from GV instead of pre-hindered from the factory! Granted the Fluxos are MUCH better than CE2s from anywhere else, I've bought a couple packs elsewhere and could not get that freakin bitter burnt plastic taste and burn out of them no matter what I did! For some reason, the Fluxos just don't give me that issue. I would still rather just buy the guts (not pre-marinated in mystery crap) and parts separately and assemble them myself. Especially with the new Fix Kits coming...

Maybe we should start a new thread for this movement!
:toast:

Whaddaya say Bad? Would they sell them to you in pieces? That might even save you money!

(he's got some tricks up his sleeve for us already, maybe a rebuildable carto?)

That would be a nightmare! Given all the subtle size differences between tubes, seals, cups, etc... you would either get leaks or destroy something, because you shoehorned and small tube onto a large base. This seal has too small wick slits, or this tube won't fit the new CE-5XZ's. Oh it's because you used the the base of a CE-498 and you need the CE-495.

Gods the chaos!!!! Playing devils advocate, can you tell?

I didn't have a problem with the new ones. These are the ones with the fuzzy-ish tubes right?

FYI, you CAN rebuild these people. The wraps at the top are what eventually burns out. Take the wraps off, & re-wrap with Nichrome. Then for the wicking. (I don't mind the CE2 wicking, but if i'm gonna rebuilt, may as well rebuilt the entire thing) use #400 SS mesh. This is the same thing if you are using any type of CE2 tank.
