But yet we pay similar markups every day on food, cars and everything else we buy. When I was working at Micky D's as a teenager, it cost them about $.30 to make a Big Mac and they were selling it for $3.50, with NO fancy packaging, but no one was complaining of the markup. Do you think it costs Toyota $35k to make a truck? Maybe half that. The point is, people have no problem paying $50 for a $6 steak at a fine steak house or paying 10x more for a fast food product than the actual cost, but complain if they have to pay more because a juice maker is doing the same. I say to each their own. I don't mind paying a little more for a "premium" juice if I like the flavor better than other juices half the price. It's still far cheaper than what I was spending on analogs.
As for them not extracting their own flavors and just using the same flavors as everyone else, this is from their website:
"All flavors are organic and we use only the finest ingredients sourced domestically and locally. All liquid is made in the state of California. Our liquid blends are comprised of 50% VG / 50% PG. Our flavors are extracted from actual base ingredients and we offer 0mg, 6mg, 12mg, 18mg and 24mg nicotine levels."
i suspect that your math is a little off, my friend.
if MCD had been making 10X off a big mac, i'd expect their stock to be at least double what it is now...
also, back in the day, when things like Earth Day first got started, Mickey D was among enemy number one for the Big Mac's decadent, fancy packaging...
