.5 subohm coil question

I do not rebuild and use .5 coils in various subohm tanks. The coils have always tasted fine, and I have only replaced one that tasted burnt. Some of my coils seem to not put out the vapor that once did. I am not really a cloud chaser. Should these coils be replaced?

In my experience, a couple things can happen. First, the coil can go for a long time and the cotton over tie starts to produce the burnt taste or a single incident could introduce the burnt taste.

The other thing that happens is the coil itself gets gunked up. With sweeter juices, this happens more frequently. The flavor doesn't taste burnt, but it's muted and the vapor production isn't there.

Either of these cases call for a new coil.

I notice with my Atlantis coils that the draw starts to get quite a bit tighter when it's due for a coil change.

Thanks, erikbal. I replaced an Atlantis today and it really made a difference. The draw was indeed tight.

Was told by a shop guy that if you take a small screwdriver and press in a bit on the cotton in the juice holes you can open up the draw. Havent tried but I used to do the same thing with cigars and it worked great.
