I just picked up an Altsmoke Silver bullet and have been running it at 3.7v with my 18650 AW IMR batteries.

I've been curious to get into higher voltage vaping at 5 and 6 volts. I've read how to get to 6 volts, but I'm not totally sure what batteries to use for 5 volts on a mechanical mod like mine.

I found these custom made batteries that look like a series of smaller batteries stacked together to run at 5 volts and are the same size as an 18650. Being the curious soul that I am I am interested to know if it's possible to stack my own batteries to get to 5 volts, and what those batteries would be.

I'm also curious about how those custom batteries work. I know that when running batteries stacked you to rotate which battery is on top in order to evenly wear down the batteries. This doesn't seem to be possible with that custom bat. Are these safe to use?

I have used these batteries in my mods. They work great. They are Nimh that are made like the normal rechargeable AA and AAA battaries you can find locally. These are the same size as an 18650, so you can use them in most mods that take a 18650. That will make a 3.7 mod a 5 volt mod. Needs a special charger which is pretty cheap. When they come off the charger they are about 5.8 volts and I recharge when they get to about 4.5 volts. I would check with the manufacturer of your mod to see if they work and recommend using them.
