Humbleness. Loving Care. Selflessness. Understanding. Compassion

These are the things that stand out to me most about my father. Probable the nicest most selfless man i know. He's a minister and he's always giving himself to the people of the church. He'd get phone calls at 3 and 4 a.m. and go to the hospital to pray for church members that got into an accident or were sick and dieing. Whenever people have a problem he's the guy they go to to seek advice. He's always there...for everyone.

Last year we were going through a family crisis and i was at his house and someone came over, not to check on my dad but to whine and moan about some problem he was having with his daughter. Everyone knew my parents were distraught, they weren't eating hadn't, slept and I wanted to tell that guy my dads got bigger problems right now, but my dad gave me that look, and he just did what he does best; help and comfort others.

Sometimes i think he's to nice for his own good, but one day i hope to be half the man he is.

Oh yeah, he has a completely full head of hair, no missing patches, no thinning and i hate him for it!!

Really near the mexican border.
My father was a great philosopher and great man, with one unbeatable temptation which ultimately killed him. He taught me through this not to let anything get in my way of living, loving and laughing. He taught me to NOT get "hooked" on anything that would ultimately shorten my life. He was fighter and as such, fought his addiction all the way to the end, but lost to it. I won't let an addiction ever get the best of me, due to his example. He led a great, wonderful life and enjoyed it sometimes, so I enjoy mine to the fullest, maybe he can live through me and know I turned out AWESOME!!! I so miss him, now!!!!
