I'd bet it's photoshopped. I saw that same pic on a Facebook group, and the originator of the post never bothered to stop back by and answer any questions about it.

Seems like a fake to me.

It's become a generic term for these sorts of boards.

When the SX350 first appeared, a lot of folks called it a DNA style chip and a clone. Nothing could be further from the truth as some of these new boards outperform the DNA's in a big way and are not in the least bit 'cloned'.

I don't think there is a name for these boards yet. It's easier to say DNA-style than High Performance DC-DC board. We could always call it a HPDC board, but no one would know what we meant.

I guess Evolv was the first company to produce a dedicated modders board - same way Hoover was the first company in the UK to sell vacuum cleaners, vacuum cleaners are still referred to as 'hoovers' irrespective of manufacturer.

I'd prefer 'modders boards' as a blanket term.

These could just be called VV or VW boards. You could specify buck or boost (or both) if you like. DC to DC is an unnecessary statement that I see thrown around a lot nowadays. Unless we're using AC power, everything we're using is DC to DC.

What makes a DNA a DNA is in the closed-loop programming.

I think Yihi do use the word 'DNA' on their SX350 Alibaba page - I think it's something like 'more advanced than DNA'.
