Has anyone used a 510 atomizer at around 5v, either through a custom passthrough or a mod? I'm trying to decide whether I want to get the 3.7v/6v or the 5v version of the PureSmoker Prodigy and I'm concerned that 5v (or a bit under) will overpower it, since it works so well for me at 3.7v with the normal battery.

CaSH believes that the 510 will work well at about 5v, but I'd love to hear from anyone who has actually tried it! :nun:

Yep, I made a mod w/510 at just under 6 volts. 2 RCR2 batteries, with a IN4007 diode inline to reduce the voltage and shock to the atomizer. Works great, vapour like crazy. I tried 2 of those diodes to limit it a bit more but it was rather dissappointing. my multimeter reads about 6.2 with no load on it, I can't get my tester leads in there while it's on because of the way I fixed the connector with epoxy. I did one without the diode and the atomizer died in less than 2 hours. Have been running it with the diode for about 5 days and it's fine.
