I've been strictly a 3.7v LR atty/cart vaper.
I never saw the need for 5v PVs. Too bulky, expensive and industrial looking.
I've tried cartos at 3.7v and found them.....weak, almost useless.
I just got a 5v passthrough with AC adapter. Call me "slow". (I do)

5v is the only way to make my cartos useful. This works!
There are some LR cartos hitting the market now but I've got a bunch of reg cartos to work through first and I haven't heard a convincing review supporting them yet.
There should be more info written on 5v carto vaping other than the ubiquitous 5v dripping.
I suppose that's why I'm writing this.

I'll have to invest in a 5v PV soon.
For convenience sake, the only logical PV for the "vaper on the go" is a refillable carto at 5v. (PV and/or PT)

i just got some 510 cartos today in the mail and tossed them on the 5v Prodigy V2- simply amazing. 5v is the sweet spot for cartos, for me. It sorta feels like I got a whole new mod/rig. Very enjoyable.

If you can catch a deal, 510 cartos are around 6-8 bucks for 5..making them a very viable alternative to standard attys too. Lovin' it.

I should have made the title "Cartos at 5v"

Now that I'm getting the enhanced carto experience I have noticed a flavor that's common to the several (4) catos I've tried.
I can't exactly describe it accurately but the underlying taste is like the smell of a steam iron on cotton sheets. It's not altogether unpleasant but it is a bit annoying...like it shouldn't be there.
Does anybody else get this?

I have guessed that topping off the cartos is important. When you start getting drier and drier hits, it starts tasting.. drier and drier. As a cartomizer gets dry it continues to hit consistently (good) but the properties of vapor taste and harshness change (bad). I have heard that perhaps the cartomizer starts vaporizing parts of the filler (maybe).

Solution, top off your carto when convenient to maintain a "wet" hit.

I only get that steamed sheet taste when i need to refill the carto. but I'm not using cartos at 5v.
