510 Atomizer: does supplier matter?

I've realized my atomizer performance can make or break the vaping experience. I seem to go through them rather quickly, some lasting much longer than others though.

I was wondering if there was any difference in atomizers by suppliers/type? (For Joye510) Are there some atomizers from certain sites that you've found consistently work better than others?

(Thanks in advance to all answers!)

well the short answer is a 510 is a 510. But then there is LR510 (or low resistance). an LR atty simulates vaping at a higher voltage (which among other things will make the vape warmer). Anything that calls itself a 510 atty will thread onto your 510 or eGo device. A LR atty should not be used on the regular 510 batteries.

I just lost my first atty a couple of days ago. It was 2 months old and was one of the originals that came with my Riva. I have 6 more atty's that I ordered from LiteCigUSA about six weeks ago and they're all still going strong. These are all regular 510 attys. I haven't tried LR attys and I don't intend to at this point. I'm very happy with what I have.

I got my Riva from MadVapes and I really can't complain about losing one atty after 2 months of use. The other one is working just as well as it did on the first day.

Attys are strange and funny creatures. Sometimes they last for months, other times they die after a few days. Unfortunately, that's just how they work. I suppose there could be a difference from one vendor to another, but I haven't experienced that.

Regular maintenance and making sure that your atty isn't getting dry while you're vaping can add to the life of your attys.

I think so, but I have never had an atty fail on me. So maybe not, its just that I but what I think are better ones to begin with. Maybe I will try some cheap ones someday to test my theory.

The Cisco Spec LR 510 is great if your into the low res scene. They are hard to find in stock anywhere though, so I usually grab a bunch when I see them.

The problem is most people are lazy and they don't make any atty last long enough to make a difference.
If you only get attys to last 2-3 weeks, just go with the cheap ones because your doing something wrong.

If you take good care of them and can make them last months then you start to reap the benefits of better quality IMO.

I've been vaping for 10 months and never killed an atty. In that time I have used 8 attys, and they all still work like new.

Every 3 days or so I soak them in Vodka for 15 minutes and then steam clean them. It takes me 20 minutes maybe to do every atty I have used since the last cleaning session. Boom, they work better than new every time after a nice steam.

I use a steam shark hand held steamer and blast the heck out of them :)

I think that actual Joye attys are the way to go! DFWVapors has a few left for $5. We haven't burned up an atty yet but, we have only been vaping for a month. I only blow mine out when I switch flavors. I have boiled them once and have rinsed them with Everclear a few of times. The first few days we were vaping we got generic attys (not sure what brand but they have a 1/4" brass(?) band above the battery connector) and 3 out of 5 were DOA and one of those three shorted out both batteries in our original kit. Bought the Joye attys and they are leaps and bounds better as far as taste and vapor production!!! Good luck to you!!!

I've only lost one (1) atty. It came in my EM RIVa 510 kit. Screwed it on, pushed it into the prefilled cart, got about 3 great hits. . .and snappo! Kaput, nadda. Throwed on a prefilled carto that came with that order, AND NEVER LOOKED BACK. EM gladly replaced the blown atty. I may start an Ecig parts museum with it. Have been usin nuttin but cartos ever since. And now, nuttin but C-E2 XL's. Guess I just don't know what I'mma missin. . .and I don't wanna. Mine has to be some kind of record for shortest atty life, next to DOA.

Cheers,
