510 atomizer leaking like crazy

510 set up, manual battery, and I drip right on the atomizer.

So I just put on a new atomizer and as soon as I drip, it just starts leaking right where the atomizer screws on to the battery. It's making a mess and since it's all leaking out, I'm getting a nasty burnt taste.

Any ideas?

Weird, normally the burnt taste means it's too dry. I normally had some leakage between the battery and the atty, but not too much. Every now and then, I would flood the crap out of it though. Maybe someone here that know more about the insides of attys can help.

Have you dripped with other atomizers before without this problem?
If not, and this is your first time, how many drops did you use?

Within seconds after dripping it just starts leaking and it makes a mess. There has to be something wrong with this atomizer or something.

Sounds like the burnt taste might be the primer. Did you blow out the atty before use? I normally blow from the part that connects to the cart.

Do you have any filler in the cart?

Yes I drpped with my other atomizer (starter kit from eciggexpress came with two atomizers) with no problem. There's no filler and I'm only dripping 3 drops tops sometimes less and it just leaks and makes a mess. I blew out the primer before dripping.

that would happen to me every time i use a vg liquid, it would leak all over the place, i could not fix the problem, i vape vg/pg hybrids now and no problems

Some atties seem to sit higher and not seat as tight. You could try to tighten down the atty to the battery, but I have heard that too tight might be bad as well.

I'm vaping a 80%/20% mix so that's not the issue and it seems to screw in exactly the same as my other atomizer did...

So its only THIS one atty that's doing it? And youve had no issues with other attys in the past?
If so, it sounds like the atty has an issue all of its own.
If this happens with ALL your attys then its probably YOU but if not (what it sounds like from your posts) its sounds like the atty itself. I've never heard of this happening before. Can you see any damage on the atty at all? (I'm thinking hairline crack somewhere). If its almost new your supplier might be up for exchanging it.

Well it's my second atomizer that came with my starter kit. The first one def never had this issue. I don't see anything physically wrong - no cracks or anything. I find it hard to believe it's anything I'm doing. I'm just dripping and vaping. Not much else to it.

right thats why I asked if any other atty had this issue - if it didn't then its probably NOT something youre doing (or not doing). If your other atty worked fine, it sounds like this atty is the reason for the leaks but I haev no idea why it would leak at all - like i said Ive never heard of this issue before that wasn't a user error (but again, from what you say it seems you are not at fault).

The atty that came with my eGo did the same thing. And it was even worse with a cart on it. It was the only 510 atty I ever had, but it was enough for me to look for non-leaky alternatives.

Is the 501 atomizer my best option for direct dripping?

I was thinking about calling eciggexpress and complaining. Maybe they'll send me a free atomizer or something because this is BS

Definitely sounds like you're atomizer is screwed up.

Maybe it is totally missing the mesh layer that is supposed to be wrapped around the coil pot.
But whatever it is, no, it is not supposed to do that.

And for what it's worth, I think I have heard of this once or twice before.

Yeah - I just hooked up my older atomizer and no leak. Guess this ones no good.

sounds like ur not hitting the bridge inside...if u drip into the atty n miss the bridg, it just leaks out the holes...try just 3 drips directly on bridge, and remember to only drip as much as ull vape. Meaning dont drip 3-4 drops n let it sit. Drip 3 drops vape 4 times, repeat or set down Hope this helps a lil

It's def the atomizer. I'm using my older one and it's working great.

With the bad one, I'll drip 2-3 drops directly on the bridge and it's leaking out within 10 seconds. It's not just one spot either where it leaks. The entire part where it screws in will be a mess within about 10 seconds after dripping.

sounds like you've solved it. Just got a bad atty. I'm on my first atty's today. Got two with my Ego. One LR and one regular. The regular worked great for about 20-30 puffs then got hard to draw and then quit altogether.

I just ordered 6 from valuevapors. Good price. We'll see if they do any better. On the upside, the taste and vapor is way better dripping than with the carto's I ordered.

I've had a couple of atties like that. Either burnt taste or leaking, no in between. I did find that one of them actually got better over time. Whether it's worth the hassle or not is another story.
